Us Can I fix my Wii with DriveKey?

I installed SoftMii on my Wii, I wanted to remove it so I could sell the Wii and went to format the Wii, which made the Wii not boot up anymore (don't know everything about the Wii) but it will go to Preloader 0.28 on startup (came with SoftMii), when trying to load the system menu from Preloader 0.28 it'll say Ticket Not Found...

If I buy a DriveKey, could I fix my Wii with this? I couldn't get it fixed any other way because it freezes on everything I try (HBC, WAD Manager, etc). Would I have to hook DriveKey up to a working Wii to configure it first? Please ask if any other info is needed.

Another half arsed Virginising attempt ends in failure. A drivekey won't help but Preloader will be just fine.

Sounds like you removed your cIOS when doing silly things. You will need to get the cIOS back if you want to recover the Wii's system Menu.

    Good luck!

I'm guessing that means I'm screwed?

No it means you need to re-install cIOS.

I'm just assuming that seeing as you softmodded and then virginised your Wii that you actually knew something about it all and would be able to do it without much difficulty.

Use Preloader to launch TBR, patch your IOS, install cIOS38 rev 14. Then with wad manager install your current System IOS and System Menu again.

It's not hard if you've softmodded before as all the steps are ones you've already done.

Thanks for the help, will try what you said soon. I'm just dumb when it comes to the Wii, I'm more in the 360/PS2 modding business. But need to learn more about the Wii.

EDIT: Also, is it possible to do all of this with a USB drive, or is a SD card required?

Will need to be SD I think. I don't think preloader works with USB, I might be wrong here though.

Newest preloader does not support usb, but priiloader may support it.

Well, when trying to do what you said, the Wiimote stops working when launching anything from Preloader. So pretty much it isn't syncing. Can't use my GameCube controller on cIOS38 rev 14 either... Any ideas?

Download signcheck and run it, hit reset many many times, then post the signcheck.cvs file from the sd-card here
    and
    Give this a try
    Download this
    Extract to a formatted sd-card

    You'll need a gc-controller
Boot the wii with sd-card in
    Wadmanager 1.5 mod should start
Select ios36, try others if fail
    Install lu64
    Restart

Does preloader list an ios and system menu?

I'm about to try what you said right now, but my info on the bottom of Preloader 0.28 is the following,

    IOS v30
    Systemmenu v289

    EDIT:

    signCheck.csv

Thanks for the help so far guys! I'm going to try the WAD Manager you mentioned right now.

EDIT: I got it all working now... I renamed the folder in the file you gave me from "wads" to "wad" and it worked just fine. Installed lu64.wad, anything else?
