    Unhappy Black Screen Help!!

    Dear All,

I am a beginner at the Wii world, My wii is not working anymore, what I get is only a black screen, I can turn it on using the remote and the power button, as soon as it is turned on the DVD drive makes a sound as if it is reading a DVD (1 blue Flash).

Before this happens, It was semi-bricked, so i followed a tutorial on Youtube and installed Homebrew channel successfully. Afterwards, I continue to follow the tutorial where i was supposed to install 2 files from the WAD Manager:
    1.SystemMenu-v289.wad
    2.IOS30-64-v1040.wad
I have installed the 1st file successfully, however, after this when i went back to install the 2nd file, the Wii restarted on it's own leaving me with this black screen

Can anyone help me please ?????????

That's what you get for following a random tutorial on Youtube. The first part in fixing a Wii is diagnosing the problem correctly and then doing the right thing to fix it.

The most glaring thing you've done wrong is installed System menu for 3.2 before you installed the IOS30 which it requires. We don't even know which System menu you were on before but I would bet it wasn't 3.2. The normal solution for fixing a semi-brick is to install System IOS followed by System menu at the same level or above.

You may be lucky and have a System IOS 50/60 or even 70 that may allow savemiifrii to work. So..

Get a Gamecube controller and plug in Port 4
Press Up, down, left, right at the same time as you power on your Wii (you may need to remove the pin under the D-Pad)
If you get a System menu version appear then this may be rescued, otherwise I don't think so.

I will try the solution you have suggested to me, using the gamecube controller with port 4. I will go today to buy one as i don't have.

The last system update i had was from Virtua Tennis 2009 game and that was the main reason for the semi-brick.

Is there anyway i can boot up my system from a DVD or SD card ??? I mean a way to let the wii boot from the DVD itself as at the beginning it is tryin to read the DVD drive, so maybe if i have the boot files on a DVD disc, can it read it ??? this is only a thought from a desperate beginner

Thanks my friend for your prompt reply and help, i really appreciate that from you.

In your situation SD booting is only possible with bootmii/boot2.

DVD booting is only possible with the recovery menu present.

Try and check if bootmii is installed

Had the same (sort of). problem May be of some help but do take your time with the recovery process and it'll get there.

Hey TxTX, thanks so much for your help...
I have checked but my Wii CD flashes only once on start.
Which unfortunately as I have read in the forum topics means that bootmii is not installed.
Also i tried buying the gamecube controller, yet still i couldn't find any place in my country who sells it uptill now. So I am stuck.
Thanks again for trying to help. I guess this is the end of my Wii :'

frankie - 002 error would not give you a black screen.

If you want help with a bricked Wii you should make a new thread.

    When you say..

#the wii remote doenst work at all
Does this mean you can't even get the Wii to come on from red to green with the Wiimote?
