Mauifrog thank you this great guide.

I found a Super Smash Bros Brawl NTSC-U (my korean wii NTSC-U).

I installed Wasabi DX modchip for autobooting. When I put the SSBB game it doesn't work! But lots of game work at this method (with d-pad).

By the way SSBB game is DVD9.

I tested the SSBB game with another wii, it works well.

My problem is: SSBB game can't start with autoboot.

    Where is my fault?

    Thank you.

Using Wii Autoboot Creator.zip to patch your isos to autoboot should make more games load. You can try it wil SSBB. I have been able to SSBB to autoboot with the wasabi. I have not been able to get the hack to work though, regardless of my loading methods. You can also try the method of maxing out the nand block with many savegames and channels.

Just a thought for someone to try
Boot mario kart ntsc, set the iso to autoboot if nessesary
On the main screen click on settings, then network, then region. This should take you to a region menu, which has an option to return to the system menu. Not sure what will happen when a 003 wii clicks it, but it does skip the health screen. Just a thought, worth a try. I can't test it my self.

    continue my post

    ok, I posted earlier.

Korean Wii, modded to USA, my mistake did the update to 4.2E.
Can get into recovery mode with GC controller.
Nothing boots, auto boot discs or whatever, nothing happens. Zelda starts spinning but nothing.

Now I have taken a step back and realized that I have lost this battle, but I am still not giving up.

My new question is: If I get a mod chip, would I be able to start the WAD manager auto boot disc, since I do get into recovery mode, but it just doesn't boot anything.

Also, which mod chip should I get? Drivekey? WiiKey2? Wiikey fusion?
And I see that some mod chips don't work with certain chipsets, how do I know which chipset is in my Wii?

1 thing, I don't want to solder anything, I am terrible at that.

    Sorry for being a noob.

Trucha ios required, Cios @ ios250, or some other trucha ios, perhaps a cIOSCORP <3.4

OK, so I have another idea if anyone would like to give it a go. If anyone with boot2 bootmii installed would like to volunteer to test this, that would be great.

OK, so here is the idea. I have tested this to the best of my ability, and it does work, but I can only test it so much as I do not have bootmii boot2 and I don't have a 003 error korean wii.

Mario Kart comes with the ability to install the mario kart channel. On an unscrubbed disk when viewed with wiiscubber we can see this channel wad on-
    Partition 2- Installer: RevoKartNR.wad

Wiiscrubber allows us to replace this wad with any wad of our chosing. Now not any wad will install. Here is what I have determined

    -Trucha bug required
-We should be able to replace this wad with an official ios of higher version # and update that ios
-We should also be able to install a system menu of higher version #
-We can not install any costom ios
-We can not install any lower version # than that install on the system
-If we have a trucha ios, we should be able to patch an official ios to a higher version # and install it.

Since error 003 is caused by ios70-v6687, and it is know that ios60 can function as system ios for 4.2 and will prevent this issue.
I have taken ios60-v6174 and used showmiiwads to patch it to install to ios70 and patched the version number to v65535 so it will replace ios70-v6687. Now to install this we need a trucha ios, since the ios60 has been patched. For this we will assume that the 003 error Korean wii has been previously softmodded and has cios install to ios250. So we will patch Mario kart to autoboot, patch it to load ios250, replace mario kart channel with Ios70(ios60-v6174)-v65535.wad, burn the game, autoboot on a wii with an autobooting modchip, and install the mario kart channel.

OK here is what you need to do:
Download 003.zip and extract to \003
You will need an unscrubbed iso of Mario Kart in your region. You must own a legal copy of this. If you are unable to dump your legal copy yourself, you may obtain one online if you wish.

    Goto \003
    -Rename Ios70(ios60-v6174)-v65535.wad to RevoKartNR.wad

-Run MakeKeyBin.exe, type 42, click generate

    -Run WIIScrubber.exe
Click load ISO, select Mario Kart iso
    Double click Partition 2- INSTALLER
    Right click RevoKartNR.wad
    Click replace
    Select \003\RevoKartNR.wad
    Close wiiscrubber

-From \003, drag Mario Kart iso onto IOSPatcher.exe, type 250 and hit enter

    -Run Wii Autoboot Creator.exe
Click "..." and load Mario Kart iso
Set boot method to automatic, click convert.

-Now burn the Mario Kart iso onto good media with good software.
Imgburn and Verbatim dvd-r are excellent, burn slowly.

-Now insert the disk into the wii
Plug your gc-controller into port #4

-Hold all 4 directions down on the d-pad and boot the wii.
Mario Kart should eventually load, be patient. If it does not load, eject and reinsert the disk.

-Once Mario Kart loads, click on settings in the upper right corner
    Select Mario Kart Channel
    Install

If this game fails to boot when set to ios250, but boots in its default ios33, you probably do not have cios @ ios250

    You could also try this

    -Rename System Menu-NUS-v486-4.2K.wad to RevoKartNR.wad

-Replace the RevoKartNR.wad using wiiscrubber as described above.

-Set the mario kart iso to ios33 with iospatcher, set it to autoboot as described above.

-Boot the game, install Mario Kart Channel.

This should install the korean 4.2K, which could fix your 003 error and leave you with a semi brick, which we can fix by installing ios60 and 4.1. Since 4.2K has a higher version #, we should be able to replace 4.2u,e,j with it.

Let me know how this works, as I mentioned above, if anyone with boot2 bootmii could test Ios70(ios60-v6174)-v65535.wad, that would be great. If you have a 003 error korean wii, you can test this to as you have very little to lose.

    Hope this helps someone.

I have been able to autoboot this disk and install Ios70(ios60-v6174)-v65535.wad using this method, but I am on 4.1. The file does install using ios250, which you should have after the 4.2 update if you had it prior. I have also tested this with other Genuine ios files, and they install.

I have been able to autoboot this disk and install Ios70(ios60-v6174)-v65535.wad using this method, but I am on 4.1. The file does install using ios250, which you should have after the 4.2 update if you had it prior. I have also tested this with other Genuine ios files, and they install.
Ok tested using ios250 did not boot. I set back to ios33 AND..did not boot aswell. All I can see bottom right corner screen 4.2U (on my korean wii error 003), the disc was spinning hard then nothing (black screen), waited 1 min and nothing.

I tested on normal 3.2U, the mario patch is booting no problem. So it wont boot at all on error 003 korean console. What now? how come doesnt wanna boot? I think there is something we do not know about 4.2..doesnt wanna let autoboot! ~ seem to change motherboard

Unfortunatly post #127 does not allow you to change to ios 250 without a system ios with trucha bug. It does autoboot with the default ios, but it does not install.

At the moment I am testing another idea, which probably will not work either.

    @ mauifrog

i was able to test your suggested method, i have 2 Wii console, one US version and the other is Korean version (bricked with 4.2 update), i also have Drivekey chip, i used it to my brick Wii for autobooting the games, i created a disc as you suggested but not Mario Kart, i use Wii Fit, i changed the channel wad with your IOS wad and the game was booting to my Korean unit using drivekey, unfortunately, when i tried to install the channel, the screen will turn Black and the Error 003 will appear, i tried the disc i created to my other Wii which is the US version at 4.0u, tried to install the channel and works flawlessly, of course the channel was not installed since i replaced it with your IOS, the IOS was installed. so basically, your method really works but not to Korean Wiis bricked by 4.2 update since it will keep on coming back to the Error.
