The updates on SMG and SSBB could not have been trigggered though so we can't assume that you are NTSC.

Bahrain, UAE and Saudi are all PAL/SECAM so theoretically that's what you should have.

Do you have any of the game isos on your computer? The tennis one would be handy.

If you load the iso for the game through Wiiscrubber you'll be able to see which System Menu file it had on there WiiScrubber 1.4 Multiboot - GBAtemp.net

Using WUM (Wii Update Manager) WUM Wii Update Manager it'll be able to tell you which update it had.

This will NOT work with the discs, you need the isos you burnt the discs from.

We'll have to go with PAL then.

If it's not right you'll be stuck semi-bricked until a game with 4.2 comes out, at least then you'll know.

What you need then is a full iso download of New Super Mario Bros Wii PAL version. Or a retail copy, buy, rent, borrow with PAL written on it.

Once you run the game and it updates your Wii it will will fix the semi-brick. I would then recommend installing homebrew channel.

In addition I would recommend setting your modchip so that it blocks import updates. This is usually done by visiting the modchips maker's website and downloading a config disc. If you don't know the maker then you must softmod and use Preloader to block future updates.

    Dear Tealc,

I have finally bought NSMBW and it works. But i would like to share a couple of neat info i found. You can find out what region is your wii from the box. If it has an ESRB letter rating then its NTSC but if it has a numerical rating then its PAL. As per our conversation i went and i bought NSMBW on PAL but as i looked at my box I found a letter rating and when i looked at the NSMBW box, i saw a number rating so I got to the bottom of it until i figured out that my Wii is NTSC. So i exchanged the NSMBW from PAL to NTSC and i did the update and voila it works. I managed to unbrick my semi bricked wii and my setting are back to normal. Many many thanks

Now i am trying to update my wii online but it would give me an error code. Now my update version on the upper right hand corner is 4.1 U. So should i try to update it again to 4.2 or just wait to the next game disc. Now how can i install homebrew. and where and how do i get it.

    John

    Stay at 4.1.

4.2 was only released to kill homebrew and modchips.
