ok i was installing preloader and it actually installed...wheni tried to go to the system menu it said that the "system files are corrupt blah blah blah" i want to actually play my wii and get it running again. i tried unplugging it and i tried sticking my mem card in but nothing works...i cant even go to the health warning menu. i am dling bootmii right now and seeing if that works..soo

1. will bootmii work? or do you have another solution?
2. if bootmii will work...how do i use it

When preloader loads, what ios and system menu is displayed- if it says ios50 your in a lot of trouble.

my preloader says ios 50. whats that mean?

I also had a problem with it saying system files are corrupt and found through some searching to try ios 36 in the settings

I am sorry Ios 50 is very very bad. If you go back to the guide and tell me why your in this mess, I will tell you how to fix it. It is linked below. Also need to know what the system menu version # is.

That is the million dollar question

Ios50 is bad because ios50 = system menu 3.4

It means that you missed this warning in the guide here.

This is bad because preloader does not support system menu 3.4, this is why you could not boot the wii on ios50, and the change to ios36 is only a bandaid and is probably causing issues. So preloader needs to be removed and the wii needs to be upgraded to 4.1, then preloader is reinstalled.

You can do this by placing wadmanagers boot.dol on the root of your sd-card
You need to download IOS50 v4889 and place in sd:\wads
You need to download system menu 3.4. wad in your region and place in sd:\wads
3.4u
3.4e
3.4j
You then hold reset and boot the wii
Preloader will start
click load/instal
load boot.dol
wadmanager starts
use ios249
install ios50
then
install system menu 3.4
then
goto 3.1-4.1 guide linked below
Install the patchedios60, upgrade to 4.1, reinstall priiloader

That should fix it.

sorry when i started modding this i wasnt a member and didnt see that note. How do i remove preloader? Also do i have to go through those steps to reinstall systemmenu 3.4 or can follow the thread about update to 4.1?

Preloader will be removed with the installation of the system menu wad. Just follow the steps above.

sorry for so many questions but one more. when i get to the start of bringing up the preloader menu after replacing wads. will i change the boot ios to 50 or leave it at 36?

It should not matter, but the boot ios should be ios50 so if you like, you can change it.
