Im pretty sure I semi bricked my wii as I cannot access my system settings. I accidentally updated from a pal version of NSMB. I there a way to unbrick it? I read something about an update disc, is that still relevant. I am using a d2pro modchip.

The typical way to fix a semi brick when running a hardmod is to run a disc update of a higher level game disc. The only trouble is you just updated with the highest level game disc currently available. The other problem is that the only higher level system menu is 4.2 which breaks cross region loading with all existing modchips.
So unless you have homebrew channel installed you are going to have some trouble.

can you not install homebrewchannel/ install a cios then use a wad manager to reinstall your correct region setting system menu.Quote:

Be careful downgrading, it may not support newer wii's. Also be sure to remove your stubed system ios if you do, or you will brick on upgrade. It may be better to do the softmod guide below, then when done reinstall your current system ios and system menu in your region.
my wii has the d2c2 chip will that be a problem? What so you mean by "stubbed system ios" and how do I know which one that is?
When the wii updates to 4.2 it replaces ios50 with a stub ios which does nothing. If you downgrade to 3.2 and then by chance update to 3.4 the stub would not be replaced and ios50 would not be installed, this would brick you. Your chip is fine, it wont interfere with anything.Quote:
