i recently turned turned my wii on it went to preloader but the wiimote would not work. I bought a GC controller and when i select system menu it just goes to a black screen. I can get to HBC but not a lot works, i can get to BootMii but have no nand backup.
It was working fine before and i have no clue what to do i am a complete n00b and would appreciate any help. thanks.
Do you have bootmii as boot2? What did you do before it died?
f you can get a wad manager work via the homebrew channel hear is some system menu wad files just choose the one you need and install it

HALT! You must have missed where he said noob. If he updates to the wrong system menu he will lose preloader and will be really screwed
what version of firmware were you on, if it was lower than 3.2 ( i think you will only get a black screen) with the GC controler
yea sorry about that if you have a pal wii then download system menu v290 witch corresponds to system menu 3.2e
If you have bootmii installed as boot2 there is an easier and more successful solution. Does your dvd drive flash twice when you power on the wii or only once? If it's twice then you have boot2.
When you start preloader, what ios and system menu version is displayed. Did you update or install any wads prior to the black screen? Don't install anything yet.

I dont recall doing anything before it died it seemed to be working ok last time it was on. I dont know what the firmware was before i started messing with it sorry for the lack of info i havnt really got a clue what im doing think i should have left it well alone.
I think i have boot2,
in the settings in bootmii i have
SysMenu 4.1E boot1b boot2v3

Put wadmanager boot.dol onto the root of your sd-cardQuote:
