Semi bricked chipped wii PAL. (Noob)

Hi, I have a Wii PAL thats chiped with a wiikey 1 and the HBC.

I've rather stupidly tried to play a copy of New Super Mario on a DVDr thinking I would take my chances and see if it worked. The game needed to update twice, the first one nothing happed the second made a error screen come up telling me the disk was corrupt. I think this update was the latest Wii system update.

The really stupid thing is it was a NTSC version of the game, so now I cant get in the the system setting and no DVDr works now. My system previously was 3.1e and now guessing I'm on the latest one but from the wrong region. can anyone point me in the right direction to fixing this if there is a way? Will a retail copy of NSMB overwrite the update and fix it, bearing in mind I have the Wiikey installed? Much appreciated for any help!

You should grab a gamecube controller and see if savemiifrii works. I am assuming you did not softmod your wii, so no bootmii?

Shame it says 4.1 as if it were lower you could autoboot a retail NMSB to get you back up and running. You could always try it I suppose. Rent or borrow or buy, it's good game and worth buying anyway.

Seems now you have to buy a modchip preconfigured to autoboot and use one of the unbrick discs available and potentially load wad manager and re-install your system Menu properly.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Does the wiikey 1 support autoboot? If it does, is it configured to autoboot?

You can try these if you like
    AutoBoot Bootmii
    AutoBoot Universal Unbrick Disc V2
    AutoBoot Wad-Manager

Non of the autoboot disks seem to work from savemiifrii, so i'm guessing not. Preconfigured modchip it is then?

Lol didn't even notice you had Wiikey.

See this Autoboot supporting modchips - GBAtemp.net

Wiikey does support autoboot. You'll need to install it in another Wii, run the config disc, change the setting, remove and put it in your Wii.
