I have a question, during your mode after installing preloader did you ever reboot the wii successfully? Also did you install ios70patched.wad before or after preloader?

I installed with hermes on ios 249, homebrew ios 202 on ios38 instead of installing custom ios222.
I contiued, installed ios 223 as ios37 merged with 38, then I installed with wad manager Neogamma and gx usbloader.
when I rebooted, I got a black screen, system files corrupted and I am stuck there.

I have a copy of my nand files, but that is as far as I get.
    Any way to fix this?
Just as a final resort, bring ur wii to the service shop.
if ur under warranty then it will be free, if not ull have to pay up $$$
depending on ur country, state, province etc. some wii T&Cs state that warranty will not be valid if intentional modification of the wii has taken place so yeah, $$$ up again.

This is a last resort though.

Actually NAV brings up something I never thought to ask. How long ago did you buy this wii? If you just bought it and bricked it, would it be possible to return it to where you got it and play dumb?

no, can´t take it to a shop coz I boght it in the US and I live in Argentina...

Now about IOS70 and preloader, thing is like this:
I followed some soft modding instructions, but was not sattisfied with the result, so I tried another one, the one I had previously installed, and the one I copied the steps here.

After deciding I was not confortable with the softmod I formated my wii, but noticed preloader was still there AFTER the format, that might give you a lead to something.

So here is the softmod steps I did before the format and following the one we have been talking about:

    Code:
    Restoring the Trucha Bug
    Run Trucha Bug Restorer
Press B to choose No IOS Reload.
Wait till it says Press 1 then press it.
    Go to Downgrade IOS15.
    Press A to downgrade.
Everytime it says "load IOS from SD" press A.
*If you get stuck on the first Trucha bug Restorer step, try to skip the 3 TBR steps completely as there is a chance it will work!

    Run Trucha Bug Restorer
    Choose IOS15 & press A. (Important)
Wait till it says Press 1 then press it.
Choose IOS36 menu. In there use these settings:

    Install IOS to slot (36)
    Hash check (trucha) YES
    ES_Identity YES
    NAND Permissions YES

Then press A on install patched IOS36.
Everytime it says "load IOS from SD" press A.

    Run Trucha Bug Restorer
    Choose IOS36 & press A.
Wait till it says Press 1 then press it.
    Then Choose restore IOS15.
    Press A to restore.
Everytime it says "load IOS from SD" press A.

    Deleting stub IOS's
    Run Any Title Deleter DB
    Choose IOS36 & press A.
Go to System Titles & press A.
    Select IOS222 & press A to delete.
    Select IOS223 & press A to delete.
    Select IOS249 & press A to delete.
    Select IOS250 & press A to delete.
*If any IOS listed above is not there, check the other pages. If it's still not there, do not worry about it & move along with the guide.

Installing cIOS & Patching the System Menu IOS
    Run WAD Manager 1.5
When it opens choose IOS36. (it is probably already set to that)
Press A to leave NAND emulator disabled.
Press A to open from SD slot.
    Install IOS70-v6687.wad
    Install IOS202-v4.wad
    Install IOS222-v4.wad
    Install IOS223-v4.wad
    Install IOS249-v14.wad
    Install IOS250-v65535.wad
    Press home to exit.

    Enable System Menu Hacks
[optional; recommended if Bootmii is only installed as an IOS.]
Run Preloader .30 to install preloader onto your system.
Enable desired hacks & go into the settings & make sure the system menu is set to load with IOS70.
*if getting the ”aborting mission” error, use the “preloaderv0.29-jodi.dol” located at modify\apps\preloaderv0.30r4-phpgeek first, then use this preloader to update from .29 to .30

Ok, I only have one suggestion and that is to reinstall your system ios and system menu. Should fix your problem, but the only trouble is- if it does not fix the problem preloader will be gone.

OK here is what you are going to do.

    download:
    Ios70patched.wad
system menu 4.2 in your region from NUS and pack to wad
put wadmanger's boot.dol on the root of your sd-card
    start preloader
    load wadmanager
    use ios 249
    1st install ios70patched
2nd install system menu 4.2 in your region

Now as I said before, this should work if the problem lies with preloader, ios70 or your system menu, however if this is not the problem preloader will be gone after this is complete so cross your fingers. I can not think of anything else for you to try as you have deleted or replaced everything else.

When your finished reboot the wii and reinstall preloader.

thanks for the reply mauifrog, quick question to start.

ios70patched.wad requires a password, can you send me that?

And the other thing, I have the nand backup, that is useless?

    the password is www.wiihacks.com
Unless you have bootmii as boot2 your backup will not do you much good.
It is not recommended to restore a nand from bootmii ios, it has been done but could go very bad.
If you did want to try you can install usbloader gx into preloader, then boot into the installed file, then exit to hbc, then load bootmii, then you could try nand restore- I have no idea what would happen if you did that.
