I'm afraid my knowledge of Drivekeys is very limited.
Don't format the Wii. A NAND restore through boot2 would be sufficient if you want to have another go.
I can't work out why you are getting Wii setting issues as that is what a semi-brick does, and that's caused by wrong region System menus.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
thanks tealc, just reopend the wii up and the drive key is not comapatble the one they sent back to me is d2-3 which has no markings on and not compatible, i have removed it andeverything seems to be back to normal, i can acsess sytem menu and neagammer and play original games through the disc chanel, when i try to load a game through neogammer it comes up with DVD READ ERROR 1053 I know the discs works in another wii i softmodded
p.s i think nintendo are sending out repairs with the new drive in, regardless of firmware
