OK, the light comes on solid and doesn't do anything. I pooched it. I guess I buy a used one with a broken drive to save a buck or 2. Unless there is a service for flashing these as I have the backup and the keys, but sldering to that flash it just to much for me.

Success - I used the "cBoot2 + Wad Manager v1.5" files from the 'Fully Brick, Bootmii/boot2 installed but No Nand Backup? Solution Here! ' sticky post and put my wad iso70 that I uninstalled into the wad folder and it booted up to wad manager and I reinstalled it. Power cycled it and it came back.

Thanks everyone and I hope this helps others. I suppose I knew what bricked mine so I knew what to replace. My goal was to try to get to the preloader but wad manager worked fine for my issue.

    Hi all,

Need some help here. My neighbour bought a wii from the car boot sale, he has been using it for months fine, until I decided to offer to softmod it for him. It had version 2.1E on it so I put in a game disc which updated it to 3.1E with no problems. However after rebooting I receive a blank screen which then moves onto a white screen. I can hear all the sound and the wiimotes sync fine and switch the console on/off. All the cables are fine because I checked them on my wii ... any ideas ?

Please help .. cheers .. Adam

good moring all, a few weeks ago i had a problem with a wii i bought second hand with a black screen on boot TEALC helped a lot but after a lot of messing arround with drivekey and gc controler and out of warranty i gave up and sent it back to the big N i put the fault down to a sync button which was fully depressed and would not switch on ( which it was ) i tracked the order and it was received, repaired and sent back to me (foc). i believe it is a diferent unit and the firmware that is installed is 2.1e, on all the forums most of them say after sending it back to nintendo it would come back with the latest firmware on it? i still have the drivekey can i just fit that and be done with it or have i got to go through the hbc and neagammer to play back ups, it is only for my kid ( i am fed up of him scratching my original games

Provided the drivekey is compatible with the drive that should work.

2.1e though, that's the oldest I've heard they've returned under repair. You could get bootmii/boot2 on that one, well worth running the hackmii installer to get that, it's the best brick protection you can get.

You did remember to update your Wii to 4.1 during the process?

I don't get what the problem is from your last post. You say you have a problem then you don't have it anymore.

ok sorry tealc, i installed the drive key i can get into the config menu but somehow it doesnt play my backups, i have attempted stickys 3.1-4.1 a followed it to a t, untill the end where it says " system files corrupt bla bla" i reinstalled preloader and it was fine, but now i cant get neagammer to load and i cant get into my wii settings, i cant remeber what drive chip was in the wii before i closed it (if it was the wrong drive would i still be able to acsess drivekey config menu?) sorry for being a noob but this wii is giving me a headache, can i format my wii and start again, take the drive key out and just softmod it?

    thanks in advance

    mike
