    3.4E Bricked Wii

I was using the following guide
[Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register]

to soft mod my Wii because My Mod chip ( D2c key) wouldn't play the NSMBW game, I tried the two other methods available at the time but they didn't work.

I made it all the way to step 5(a) then the power cut... and when I turned on my Wii it was bricked... *sigh* didn't complete step 4 because they told me to go to step 5 (a) 1st

    I should've installed Firmware 4.0 1st...

    Preloader obviously doesn't work

I loaded Bootmii as a IOS , so I've been trying to use Universal Unbrick Disc version 4 to load bootMii but no success, Still bricked.

Should I use the Rescue Method of plugging a Original GC controller into port 4 & holding down the 4 Directional Buttons.

If so I need to buy one, how do you know if it's an Orignal Gamecube controller?

Neither wiikey nor D2c modchip will play the NSMBW. at the moment, playable only under LOADERs (softmod).

For sure, the GC controller made by Hori (Jpn) is fully compatible to Original Ninty's kit. Get it fm a retail shop, or FredMyler, Target,....

So what was the last thing you did? Installing IOS60? Did you actually get preloader on there?

Yes I was scrolling through Pre-loader when the power cut.

Pre loader is installed when you're actually using it right???

Edit: looks like the link to the guide I was using was wrong, here it is [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register]

I got up to around 25 seconds on the youtube video of step 5 when the power cut

Yes it should be installed and nothing should have really changed if you were just scrolling through preloader.

Hold reset as you power on the Wii and see what happens.
