    No TV Signal...

Well, I used Waninkoko's upgrader to 4.1, did everything correctly, and when it was done installing I rebooted my Wii. It automatically went to Preloader and froze. I tried rebooting it and now I'm getting "no signal" on my tv. The disc drive will still take and eject discs.

Just wondering if this means I'm totally boned.

Try holding reset on the Wii as you power on, hopefully you'll get Preloader.

    Doesn't sound encouraging then.

    Do you have bootmii/boot2 installed?

Yessir, but when I put my SD card in the slot I'm still getting no signal on the TV.

I'm considering calling Nintendo and playing dumb, saying the system menu 4.2u update from Wii Sports Resort bricked me and seeing how that all goes down, problem being I'm well out of warranty. :|

I'm a little uneasy sending a softmodded Wii off to Nintendo, but I doubt anything that bad could happen, right?

Sports resort come with 3.4 so wouldn't have updated you to 4.2 but I suppose you wouldn't necessarily know that.

Are you sure you have bootmii/boot2? Does the Wii slot flash like this?

To answer your question yes, and interestingly enough when I plugged it in to check that I got booted to Preloader again, this time it's not frozen, but when I choose system menu it goes to a black screen.

I can consistently get Preloader on there now(have turned it off and on a few times to make sure it's not a fluke.) I've softmodded several wiis on 3.2U but this is the first one on a higher fimware I've messed with, and this all seems screwy as hell lol.

What are the IOS and System Menu numbers listed in preloader when you get it loaded?

God dammit, my friend walked through the room while I was on the Preloader screen and tripped over the power cord. Turn the wii right off, and now I can't get Preloader again.

Is there any normal explanation for why preloader will work sometimes?

    Edit: Got it gain.

    IOS v36
    Systemmenu v449
    preloader v0.29

So you have a 4.1U Wii running with IOS36 rather than the usual IOS60, no wonder you have issues. I bet it's because preloader is running of IOS36.

If you wii slot flashes like I demostrated in my video you should have a boot2 installation which you can load. Do you have a bootmii folder on your SD card? If not grab mine bootmii folder.rar and edit the bootmii.ini to show VIDEO=NTSC rather than PAL. Once ready drop the bootmii folder to your SD card, hopefully it'scompatible.

See if you Wii boots to bootmii's 4 icons instead of preloader. As shown below...
