Follow this guide... Using NAND Formatter to completely Re-install your Wii

You can use Savegame extractor first via HBC to backup all your game saves. You can do the same for your Miis using Mii Extractor

You will need a retail game with SM 4.1 to reload your IOS. If you don't have a retail game, check out post #186 for an alt method to installing them. Good Luck

I didn't get to read the replies, but if I'm understanding correctly this works if when you start up your wii you get a black screen right? (NOTE: as you can see I am not the one familiar with the Wii Hacks, my husband is the one who knows what he's doing but he's not here at the moment & I was going to show him this page hoping that it will fix our wii)

Talking Bricked Wii = FIXED Tnx man !

    Hi all

My PAL Wii from 2007 (oldie) with installed Wiikey v1 , BootMii as Boot2, HBC and using NeoGamma to boot my fav game , was bricked during an update with a recent game. The person doing the update tought it took to long (was wating for about 15 minutes) and turned off the Wii.

Result: Bricked Wii wont boot anymore

So on to the rescue: This Thread

After reading 26 pages and trying 10 different solutions to fix the Wii I finally found Post #276 >> http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...tml#post237693

Which told me to use the tool to format the SD card and try with a Format. First boot was unsuccesfull with BootMii folder from Post #1, Replaced it with my old BootMii folder. Catcheng , Wii booted in install mode, was coping files an rebooted. Setup Screen.

Wii Now unbricked , updated to latest from internet, Wiikey updated to 1.99 and no need for NeoGamma anymore.

On to the next fav game

Tnx for the solution again and again.

PS: I now made a NAND backup, too bad my 1Gb SD is almostfull now ;-)

Ok, I followed this tutorial, but I downloaded wad manager and that cboot thing separately because mediafire wasn't working for some odd reason. Whenever I loaded my wii up, it would always freeze when I had the app and wad folder on it, so I'd have to delete those, load the homebrew channel up, than put them on. After I did that, I installed the IOS60 than tried to install the system menu wad, but I got a ret error. Once I rebooted my wii, the menu finally loaded up, so I think I actually fixed it. Thing is, that I'm worried that there's still something up with it, is there any precautions I can take to make sure that my wii doesn't suddenly go kafluckey out of no where?

Fix for bricked 4.2U Wii with BootMii/boot2

In case this helps anyone... I had a bricked 4.2U Wii and I did have BootMii/boot2 installed, but restoring my NAND backup didn't help. I had BootMii installed, and BootMii would start, but nothing else worked (trying to go to the Wii menu or trying to load the Homebrew channel would freeze it).

Here's how I accidentally found a way to fix it... I downloaded and installed "cBoot2 + Wad Manager v1.5" from the link in the first post of this thread to a newly formatted SD card. When I booted using that card, it brought up the Wad Manager. The Wad Manager actually wasn't of any use to get the system working, but I found out that if I unplugged the Wii for about a minute (not just 10 seconds, you really have to wait for about a minute!) and then started it with that same Wad Manager SD card in, for some reason it loaded up the regular Wii system menu just fine. I was then able to go to the Home Brew channel and used DOP-Mii to install a new IOS70, which was missing for some reason. That fixed the problem. Apparently a corrupt IOS70 is one likely cause of a bricked 4.2U Wii.

You will have an unbricked softmodded wii...but you will need to reinstall priiloader (after you complete this guide) as re-installing the system menu will remove it.
    Damn I suck!!!!
