Sure you can back up NAND but you can't restore it safely.

Don't update to either 3.4 or 4.2 as they both have issues, 4.0 or 4.1 would be better (use Waninkoko firmware updater 4.1)

    Oh and press thanks.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

If you are talking about Preloader then Load Homebrew Channel from Preloader, then from there fix your problem, e.g if it was a bad wad for a channel,VC or Wiiware, load WAD Manager and un-install it. if it was your system menu that got corrupted, then install a new one via cIOS Downgrader or WAD Manager.

If you are talking about bootmii, the information is in the tutorial

if like me your system is corrupt and you cant load cboot2 via bootmii, then you can use betwiin to swap a nand from a working wii to a non working wii.
it is a little bit hard but here is a guide that i found

    http://www.console-inf.com/forum/tut...p;&language=en

you need to register its free. then you can see the pictures and download links.

i had never used cpromt or hexeditor before reading this guide.

swapped the nand but wii still dont work.

Okay i have tried this guide and have got this far... could someone please suggest any further steps...

tried both wad manager 1.5 & 1.4 packs..

i have a PAL wii previous system menu was 3.4e tried doing the softmod but sadly put preloader on before i upgraded.. this is where it stands at the moment.. i can get the homebrew channel on but i get system files are corrupt on any other way..

with this guide i can get the IOS50-v4889 to load fine but the System Menu v386 (3.4e) give me an error 1033... i have tried to install the System Menu v290 (3.2e) but that gives me a 1035 error.. does anyone have any advice??

    Thanks in advance..
