Hi guys and thank you for advice. I managed to get my wii up and running again by re installing the 4.1e files etc.

Unfortunately my wii no longer plays backup games even with neogamma installed, any ideas for a fix would be appreciated.

I was going to use the softmod 3.1 to 4.1 again but was worried about causing a brick again

Do savemiifrii with a gc-controller. If it works, reseat or replace your bluetooth module.

This is a for people who have a fully bricked wi with bootmii/boot2 installed but no Nand Backup. This is a rare situation but the solution is simple. Since Loading Homebrew Channel would give you a black screen, you'll need to follow these steps.

STEP 1 - Preparing SD Card

    NOTES
If the first pack didn't work, try Wad Manager v1.4 + cBoot2, remove everything from your sd card and download and unzip this pack to the root of your sd card:
    cBoot2 + Wad Manager v1.4.rar

    System Files 4.1 USA
    IOS60patched
    System Menu v449 (4.1u)

Next Create a folder called WAD on the root of your sd card so that your sd card now looks like this:

Unzip the System Files Pack that you downloaded earlier and place the .wad files into the WAD folder on the root of your sd card.

2)Now Install the IOS wad and your system menu wad. Restart your wii by pressing the Home Button, after it reboots, turn it off. Remove your sd card and turn on your wii. Your wii should now be unbricked.

A Black Screen may not always be caused by a full brick, it may be a problem with your bluetooth module. To clarify, try powering on your wii with your wiimote, if it powers on then that means it is a full brick. If it doesn't that means you'll have to replace the bluetooth module.

    shadowsonic2..

    you are the mannn..
i bricked my wii by updating n not paying to much attention to what i was installing, so the famous black sreen came up. lucky for me i installed bootmii. so i came across ur info after a month of searching and used the above files. i was able to load a sd card on bootmii2 and open the homebrew channel, with that open i had gecko 192 in the apps folder. i then inserted super mario galaxy n pressed launch game through gecko. from there i was able to sync my wii remote to this wii. i ejected the game n reset my wii n used ur files to unbrick my wii with the wii remote. i hope i didnt loose u.... so anyways the only thing different i used was ios 249 to load ios60 and the system menu...
hope this info helps someone else.... thanks again shadowsonic 2

First off, Thank you, my wii is not 100% but i can at least load games.

    Hopefully someone can help me

Here is my sad tale and what I did and what is happening:
Have a Launch Day wii with a clone wiikey
all was fine till 4.0 killed homebrew - I did some IOS Stuff, but it was never 100% - installed bootmii
Then my bro installed 4.2us - killed boot - system shuts off but power led stays green

I did install Bootmii (0.9), and with an sd card, can run it (launching wii or hbc shuts the system down) and the sdcard with my nand backup is dead. So no recovery option there.

The info in this thread (the 2nd "mod" one) with the wad for 4.1us is now on an differnt sdcard and when wii is booted with that card inserted is says cboot2 v16 then goes to wii launch (health warning press a) This lets me still play games, etc. -

The wii says it is 3.4us and will still NOT BOOT without either the cboot or the bootmii sd card in.

Sidenotes: Once in wii menu via cboot, if i swap sd cards and load "any title deleter" i get a ret = -1017 at the "informing wii i am god"

going back to wii menu from home button at any point goes to black screen.

Sorry this is long, But I really wanna get my wii to not need an sdcard to boot. as well as get HBC and such 100%. Thank you for helping.

EDIT: was unable to install patch IOS60, installed 4.1us sys menu. and it boots fine.

Once I cboot in, if i pull power (turning off doesnt work) and turn back on - I get wad manager, but no option to "No IOS Reload". I am leary to mess with the IOS and system wads, as I have 4.2 and can get my system to boot with cboot, dont wanna risk full brick.

going back to wii menu from home button at any point goes to black screen.

Boot into the system menu, the do step1 and step 3 from the 3.1-4.1 guide linked below. Then use BootMii Configuration Editor from HBC to fix your bootmii config. Set autoboot to system menu and delay to 0. Then do step 4 and step 5 from the 3.1-4.1 guide linked below.

One of the games got stuck and displayed blacked screen, so i turned off. and when it came back, it only shows black screen. I can launch bootmii from memory card but wiimote doesnt work though i could see the menu.
I also followed the instruction in this thread and wad manager loads up fine but again no wiimote. I have game cube controller for wii, but that doesn't work either. I know as soon as i get my controls working i should be able to unbrick it. Is there any difference between official gamecube controller or some other like this
    ?

If i find a classic wii controller will it work? or any other suggestion?
Also, the wii doesn't turn on using the wiimote. So if and when wii unbricks, will it work or i should buy BT module?

Could be that you have an incompatible SD card as SDHC are known to be problematic. Also you may need to verify you have bootmii/boot2 actually installed.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
