    Cool

sounds like I got screwed then. I paid $170 for a used Wii at Gamestop, which came to around $120 after the credit from my bricked Wii I traded & tax

I am guessing they just send those things to someplace to be refurbed anyway & they'd get new motherboards if needed

surely gamestop is still making money on it if they are selling it at 170 & buying old for 60

Some shady shop in my town in Israel does this for me. They sell all kinds of moded consoles, so they probably buy tons of those motherboards, that is wht they get it cheap.

    Hi,

I am a Victim of the same error but using 3.2 version..........

This is Jag, i purchased a Wii(korean system is guess) couple of months back, it's version 3.2 i guess, i'm very new with modchip etc., recently i switched on my wii's wifi and in settings menu i got a popup for upgrade-i thought it wud be a firmware upgrade and i started upgrading it and in the middle of the upgrade an error was thrown stating " 303 system error - Unauthorized device detected" , after this i tried reset my Wii and as soon as my Wii starts no home page is displayed - 303 error is displayed and not moving further...

Finally i realized that my Wii is bricked..... ( (

Please help how to rectify as i doesn't know any thing what need to be done please please help how to recover and re-work and enjoy my wii...
Please tell me each and every step in recovering the same and file links what need to be done after each and every step... and back to normal which i can play the region free games, some downloaded and as well as DVD's (modsoftware's) to make it work...

My wii is soft modded initially i guess.... if you can tell me each solution i would be very thank full and will happily go a head for Donation for wii community ...

    Please reply back

    Regards,
    Jags.....

    1) 100$ < 149$
    2) Don't forget taxes. In my country it'll be around 100$ in a good case/ Even in a gift wrap.
    3) I don't want to wait ^_^

    Hi Jag.
Sorry for the bad news, but after a read Internet for hours and learned names of mod, homebrews and other neat stuff, I realised that 003 error is unfixable if you don't have one of those thinfgs:

    1) savemii - this is a chip (hardware mod) inside your Wii that helps you unbrick it in most cases (in most cases your have to order it through Internet)

    2) savemiifrii - this is a simple gamecube controller + original copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl (NTSC) game to use exploit that is called "Smash Stack"

If you don't have those things, you can
    1) Buy a new Wii and update it only if YOU 100% SURE THAT IT'LL NOT BRICK your console. (even if it means NEVER connet to the Internet)

    2) Buy a new motherboard. On the Internet and replace it by yourself, or go to the shop and they'll do it for you. Probably 100$-150$ +- 3 weeks of waiting. (that's what I did for 120$ = Korean motherboard (it will brick again if I update) + taxes + work)

If you do have savemii or savemiifrii + SSBB There is one way that MAYBE will unbrick your Wii.
    Here is the guide: http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...-detected.html
Here is the youtube video + guide (press "more info" on the right side):

BTW official Nintendo reseller can fix it in my country. For 200 euros... *facepalm*

This sollution is not 100% (as it is said in both links that I provide in my previous post). It can brick your Wii beyound any possibility of recovery.
