Semi Brick (No Settings Menu)
I have a soft moded Wii with 4.2U I updated prior to installing the mods and after installing a few WAD's I found I no longer can access my Wii Settings it just goes to a black screen no Error's? I have read a few was to fix this just dont want a total brick in the process anyway to fix this? I cannont find the 4.2U system menu I have however found 4.0 would that fix my problem? I really want my settings back

i had the same and fixed it with reinstalling my system menu (4.1E) I would NOT reccomed to install any menu other than your current one, there should be 4.2 system menu wads available.....somewhere

ive not found it in the normal places i would go for that sort of thing its gotta be somewhere! lol. Wives are evil like that! xD

edit: ok, was being an idiot, i have a copy, you need NUS from here: [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] Then click database, system menu, and find 4.2U, it will then download the 4.2 wad (make sure to click Pack -> WAD at the bottom!)

why are people so scared of installing wads?????????
its safe to install any system menu wad via wadmanager as long as you instal the relavant ios first then the system menu wad.

check out this link. if you want to downgrade/ install ios that matches the system menu you want to go to/ then install the system menu you want to go to
so for pal 3.2

it would be ios 30
followed by sys menu 290.

i do it all the while, it like having a wormhole across the ninty galaxy.

BUT BEWARE!!! YOU COULD KILL YOUR WII!!!!!!
IF YOU DO THEN DONT BLAME ME!!!!!

if you have bootmii as boot2 and a nand backup you cant go wrong.

IF YOU HAVE A LU64 IGNORE ME

download above. run it and tick pack wad.

download whatever ios you need and whatever system menu you need.

install the ios wad
then install the sys menu wad
you will then be on what ever firmware you have chossen from above programme.

unless you have an LU64+ wii, then i thought downgrading would brick it?

I JUST HAD A QUICK SEARCH ABOUT LU64+ AND CANT QUITE GET TO GRIPS WITH WHAT WOULD KILL IT?
PLEASE SOMEONE SHED THE LIGHT/ OR I MAY BUY ONE TOMMOROW AND TRY TO DOWNGRADE IT.
