I was stupid enough to ignore advice not to downgrade my Wii after upgrading to FW 4.2E (I am on a PAL Wii so no region mistake brick here), I downgraded using Waninkoko's CIOS downgrader 1.2 to Version 3.2E, my Wii downgraded fine, but when I tried to install Firmware 4.0 using Waninkoko's Firmware 4.0 updater, It finished really quickly, I restarted and now I get a black screen, I have a feeling this is a full brick, my Wiimote also will not connect.
I want to know, is there any way I can fix this? Will Savemii even boot my Wii into recovery mode? i'm no noob to the modding scene, im a noob to fixing bricks, i've tried SaveMiiFrii with a 3rd party GC controller, no luck though, I was thinking of trying SaveMii with a legit Wii game disc that I could borrow off a friend would that work as long as the FW is over 3.2E? I do not want to waste my money on a SaveMii if it will not work, also I have no modchip installed so I don't think I can boot a recovery disc or autoboot/universal unbrick disc, I am mainly worried about Boot2V4 issues, has downgrading my Wii from 4.2 to 3.2E using Waninkoko's CIOS downgrader still kept that Boot2V4? if so, will this interfere when using SaveMii?

if savemiifrii doesn't work then savemii wont, they are both the same. Double check some youtube vids to make sure your doing it right, it can be tricky.
If you updated to 4.2 with the official update, then your boot2 is already a boot2v4 now, that is what 4.2 does to your wii.
I thin kyour pretty much screwed to be honest, although im sure Tealc will be along soon to answer you, he is the master of all things bricked!

Oh I see, does it make a difference if I'm using a 3rd Party GC controller, I thought maybe because of that it doesn't work, I have looked on youtube and tried all the ways, but one thing I don't get is, why have they got their Wii consoles open when doing the SaveMiiFrii? is that a step I'm missing?
Yeah I updated using official update damn you Nintendo, if my boot2 is boot2v4 will it interfere if, hypothetically speaking, I could use the SaveMii dongle to load a different FW version using a Legit Wii game with a FW higher than the 3.2E?
Yes, I hope Tealc does come along, please Tealc help me out!

Having the Wii console open has nothing to do with the Savemiifrii video.
You don't need the dongle. The GC controller method does the EXACT same thing (IF you can get it to work and IF it's even ABLE to work in your current state).
If you can somehow get an original disc with an update higher than that, you have a chance.

well this sounds like a low level brick to me.. your ios60 is a stub and it is needed for 4.0.... but you dont have it...

Yes I understand, but the thing is I haven't got a an OFFICIAL Nintendo GC controller, I've tried with a third party one, taking it apart, putting it back etc, my D-pad buttons had this sort of pad/cushion thing with for holes that could be pressed in with pressure to activate the corresponding button on the controller board, the actual buttons themselves had a "nipple" thing at the bottom that would prevent them from being pressed at the same time, I took it apart, cut the "nipple" off and tried it, even after repositioning that cushion
It's better If i show you via pics of the D pad

Yeah its definitely a low level brick, erm if it helps, I got rid of the stubbed IOS249 before bricking it, if the IOS60 is stubbed, does that mean it would interfere when i'm in recovery mode trying to update it off a genuine game disc? (if I can get into it recovery mode that is)
I have same 4.2E black screen problem, though I haven't downgraded my wii, since I softmoded it after 4.2E FW was already updated to my console. Only thing I can recommend is to try starting without SD-card in slot.
In my case, pressing the power button two seconds or so to start my console (my console doesn't start by booting it via controller at all) and starting the controller at the boot. Sounds like a semi-brick for me too.
I don't know how to fix this, and I haven't even put my efforts to check out ways to fix this since all the backups and such play better than well. Hopefully this is helpful.
If there is a chance of fullbrick with this setting of mine, then I propably should check out deeper details on this problem, but for now I am one happy wii-gamer every once in a while.
