Was Coverfloader a wad file install or a boot.dol application?
GH5 tried to updtate me to 4.2 when I had it. I was on 4.0.

Hmm... I have no idea what could've happened then. List the events that happened in the order they happened. Use as much detail as possible.

Just because a disc runs an update does not mean you'll get a System menu update. If the disc carries any IOS on a higher version that you have it'll run the update. You probably needed one of those IOS.

    Agree with Chaos.

A full rundown of what you did. Asian characters do not appear on a euro Wii normally.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

I had just done Waninkokos 4.2 updater which I assumed had all the latest versions of the IOSs. Whatever, nvrmnd, I don't have the problem anymore anyway.

Back to the topic, maybe the Wii somehow got it's region confused? Asian charecters on Eruo Wii is pretty wierd.

    Well here's what happened...

I loaded my homebrew channel as normal, and i loaded the app CIOS61 and Shop Channel

then i was following some instructions given to me by a youtube video (i'll post if i find the video again)

    it involved and IOS downgrader
then i tried to use coverfloader the app (boot.dol) and it froze while it was loading. So i just turned it off manually and when i turned it back on it came up with japanese writing instead of a warning screen. So i tried the savemiifrii thing with the gamecube controller, by holding all the buttons down while starting up the wii. There was a disc already in the wii when i started it up and the firmware number came up in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I then turned it off now there is nothing when i turn the wii on, its actually on but its just a blank screen.

When i did the downgrade to 2.2, it asked me if i wanted to change the region to match the firmware so i did that. But i dont know if maybe when i upgraded it again, it changed the region again and it crossed the regions

How old is your Wii? What's the first 6 digits of the serial number?

Why did you downgrade? It's stupid and unneccesary these days.

Using IOS downgrader is potentially dangerous for several different reasons, two of which include:-

    1) You can easily install the wrong region.
    2) You can break a boot2v4 Wii by going to less than 3.4

I downgraded my wii so i could use USB loader, which started to not work when i upgraded.

    First 6 digits are: LAH103

I purchased my Wii in Australia because thats where i live. Should it be in EUR firmware?
