    Bricked boot2 with 3.4U/preloader with SystemMenu-v289.wad

I made a big mistake softmodding a wii today. The wii is boot2 (newer/cannot be downgraded), and came with 3.4U. I use the Dogegg softmod any wii. Everything was done correctly, i had just installed IOS60-patched wad and it was time to run the firmware upgrader to get it to 4.1, at which point I realized that I had forgotten to set up the internet connection ahead of time in the system menu, and would not be able to use firmware updater. I also could not get back to the system menu because it is semi-bricked at this point. After searching around a little bit i did not see any methods to set up the internet connection manually without accessing the system menu. (was there a way to do this???) I rushed to a decision that I would have to update the firmware manually (offline), and foolishly installed SystemMenu-v289-NTSC.wad thinking it was 4.1U. I didn't think it would be a problem since preloader was installed and working, and the only other thing I could think of to do was to uninstall IOS60-patched which I thought would be even riskier. After installing the system menu wad the Wii is bricked, including no more preloader. So can this be fixed with savemiifrii or is it completely done?

Since systemmenu-v289 is apparently 3.2, I think what I have done is attempted to go from 3.4U -> 3.2U System Menu, on a newer Wii that cannot be downgraded. This is a banner brick, or something even worse? I dont believe BootMii is installed, not even as IOS. Apparently my only hope would be savemii/savemiifrii, so Im wondering if this is even worth bothering, since the system menu appears to be completely destroyed.

No chance of that. If it came with 3.4U then it's LU64+ and has the boot2v4. I'm sure I just answered a post just like yours elsewhere.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

There's something frightening about imagining your Wii as an actual brick...

    :-P
    Sysmenu 4.1U / cIOS38rev14 / Preloader v0.30 / BootMii/boot2 / USB Loader GX / 320 GB Iomega HDD

First you will need a gamecube controller, a small screw driver, and a backupcopy or Original copy of Guitar Hero World Tour, thats it.

first take the screws out of the back of the gamecube controller and expose where the directional pad is, there should be a piece of rubber that sits on top you will need it too.

Second, go to your Wii and plug the GC controller into port 4 "...." put the rubber circle over the four directional contacts and press it where all directions are being pressed then power on you wii while holding all four directions down at the same time. If done correctly you should see your system menu version in the lower right hand corner "mine was 3.2u"if so GOOD!!! now

Third it's time for the Guitar Hero World Tour disk just pop it in the wii and wait there is no load bar or nothing if all goes like it did for me, in about 1min the 3.2u should change to 3.4u wait about 1 min and eject the disk and power off your Wii you should now be back to normal but with system menu 3.4u

I used this on a LU64, 3.2u wii running neogamma r7rev14 softmod with no modchip, but the backup copy of GHWT still worked as long as it has the update on it.
    Hope it helps

You have killed your wii. Preloader patches the System Menu, when you installed a new one, it would have obviously have been removed. A Full Brick cannot be saved with SaveMiiFrii, since your wii has the newer boot2 that means you definitely have no bootmii as boot2. Your Only Option:

Send it to Nintendo for Repairs.
