    Bootlooping into Homebrew Channel installation

I had twighlight fix on my wii. I manually deleted some of the channels, then formatted the system memory. Oh what a giant mistake that was. It would only boot to the black menu system with 3 options. Somehow I managed to get the Wii to boot to file but unfortunately the file was the installation file for the Homebrew channel. so now it just constantly installs the hbc, then reboots to the hbc install in a continuous loop. Any suggestions?

Remove the hackmii installer from the SD card. I'm assuming that's where it is located.

Are you using preloader to boot this file?

EDIT: I just realised that 'black menu system with 3 options' is preloader.

Hold reset as you start the Wii, access preloader and change the setting you changed before to stop the looping.

Thanks for that, it brought me back to the preloader 028. Homebrew channel loads but there is nothing on it, when i try to install any wads I'm getting a black screen with a corrupt message and a lot of gobbledegook. Doesnt matter what file I try to load or install, I get a corrupt load error. Not sure what to do from here..any suggestions?

You probably deleted some critical things while you were deleted things and formatting your system memory.

So nothing shows when you loads HBC with apps installed on your SD properly?

I think you probably need to update your system, with luck you will be able to run Waninkoko 4.1 update. http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...l-working.html

Perhaps I am not installing the files correctly. When HBC starts, there is just the blue screen with the bubbles(?)..and nothing else. It says homebrew down on the bottom of the screen but nothing else on the screen.

I try to install through the preloader using the install/load option. Am I doing the right thing or am I overlooking the obvious?

I will try the fix you suggested above and let you know how it went. Thank you for your help.

Blue screen with bubbles is the default screen if HBC does not detect any folders containing boot.dol or boot.elf in the sd:\apps folder.

Try putting an application on your SD in the right location.

Ok so I have been following the instructions to update to 4.1 . I'm running into a problem installing cIOS249r14. I select IOS249 and it seems to install just fine, it goes back to homebrew channel and I select 'wad manager 1.5' and it goes to black screen and locks up. When I reboot and go into wad manager, and load IOS60patched, I get a Exception (DSI) occured! and a code dump.

I'm new to the scene but sure appreciate your help. Any suggestions?

    **** EDIT

seems that I've solved one problem but ran into another, I'm into Firmware Updater 4.1 and it's sitting on "initializing network, please wait" and not getting any further. I have a wireless router without any security on it, have rebooted both the wii and the router but still not getting passed this point.

    ***EDIT 2

After successfully getting systemmenu v289 to install, I let the system do an update to 4.1U. Seems to be working great now. Great website here for information. Lots of great contributers.
