    Help....

I used the 3.1-4.1 to unlock my Wii. I got everything going right but when I went to upgrade to 4.1 I could not get an internet connection.

Like an idiot in the preloader settings I changed it to boot to system menu. Now when I turn on the Wii I get the following error " The system files are Corrupt".

Does anyone know how I can get to the preloader or install non corrupt system files. If I dont fix the Wii my kids are gonna kill me. And they are already awake asking to play the Wii...HELP ASAP!!

    THanks

Hold reset when starting the Wii to start preloader.

As for the corrupt system files message. At what stage in the tutorial did you get up to and what System Menu were you on before you tried to upgrade to 4.1. Basically the more info you can provide the more help we can be.

I made it all of the way through the tutorial. WHen I got to step4 I tried to change it and could not get any internet connection. It hung for a few minutes so I turned the system off. Thats when the shart hit the fan.

Good new is, I have been able to hold reset and get back to preloader and load homebrew. Hopefully all is not lost.

Is there a way to download 4.1 similar to how you would download firmware for say an iPhone?

Never downloaded firmware for an iPhone.

You didn't say which System Menu version you were at.

ooh Preloader has issues with 3.4, like I wasn't even aware it worked at all, you are lucky to have it functioning. Are you sure you didn't update to 4.0?

Positive, I did the SaveMiiFrii trick and got the 3.4U showing up on my screen.

Is there any where I can get 4.1 as a WAd, put it on the same SD card and then install that?

If I could figure out how to get network connectivity then I would be able to use what is on the 3.1-4.1 sile. But it says initializing network connection and sits there for 10-15 even as high as 20 minutes.

What if Iput a back up launcher on my homebrew. Launched a game with 4.1 on it? Think that would help??

    Here's the thing.

    3.4 uses IOS50
    4.0 uses IOS60.

As you installed preloader after you installed patched IOS60 it runs off that.

My instinct is now to re-apply System Menu for 3.4U, version 385. I have one in my mediafire 3.4U-SystemMenu-NTSCU-v385.rar

    Install using Wad manager.

This should remove preloader (I think) and give you your menu back, you can then setg up your internet settings and return to the tutorial, remembering to install prelaoder again and patched IOS60.

Funny this is the second time today that someone missed that rerquirement off the tutorial, will have to add some detail to it.
