I properly installed the battery and tested again. NO go.

I tried the uudv2, uudv4, official Nintendo backup disk and Wad Manager Boot disk. No love from any of them... but the Official Nintendo disk did tease me. Of all the disks, it actually spun up and kept spinning... but didn't get me anywhere. I was still stuck on the black screen with 4.1(USA) in the bottom right.

Yes, I know the Nintendo boot disk isn't suppose to work on system menu 4.1. I was desperate.

Maybe I can wait for some game to be released with System Menu 4.2 on it?

Or, I already have the shipping labels from Nintendo.... maybe I should rip my Autoboot configed WiiDriveKey out, slap the Wii back together and keep my fingers crossed that they will fix/replace it under the current RMA/support I already have setup.

Dang. (No Preloader = moronic = me)

well, I was wondering if this technique could help me unbrick my wii.

Here is what happened to me:

1- korean wii - english menu - was on 3.2u and hbc 0.9 (No Bootmii)
2- installed hbc 1.0.6 and DVDX
3- installed IOS60 (Patched)
4- installed Preloader 0.29 (couldn't run HBC from Preloader)
5- installed another Preloader 0.29 (could load HBC from Preloader)
6- dowloaded sysetm menu 4.0u (V417) with NUSD V1.2 having key.bin and kkey.bin in the same directory
7- ran the output wad file from wad manager 1.4 and restarted.
8- resulted in a garbled screen with white and green stripes whenever i turn on! (no health warning screen and preloader does not work either)

i can go to recovery mode by my GC controller and it shows 4.0(KOR).

a) what did i do wrong?
b) can i fix it with this guide? (i have no bootmii, and preloader does not run.)

Re-install IOS60 but get it from a trusted source such as the pack from New Softmod ANY 3.1 - 4.1 Wii in the tutorial section and find your system menu wad and install it.

Thanks for the advice, but i have already installed the IOS60 which was inside the UUD V4.0 package (cIOS60-cfwprpht-v3.5.wad), but no difference.

i guess the problem might be because of the system menu. i am sure i downloaded v417 (4.0U) with NUSD, but when i get to recovery mode it shows 4.0(KOR).
does this have to do anything with the kkey.bin file which i had downloaded and put in the same directory as for NUSD?
