Thumbs up Just received repaired bricked wii from nintendo....

A little while ago my friend was messing around on his wii and bricked it bad. He did have bootmii as boot2 and i tried everything to restore his wii however nothing worked. We called up nintendo who agreed to fix it (it was out of warranty so it cost $75 USD). We sent it off a week ago Monday. I received the fixed wii back last night and knowing that t hey had to replace the NAND chip, or put a new system board in it, I figured it would come back with 4.1 system menu and the 2.4 boot1 version. To my surprise it came back with system menu 3.3 and did not have the newest boot2 on it. All i can say is that was the best 75 dollars i ever spent. With in an hour of receiving it back I banner bombed it and now it is back to its original modded glory. This time around I have dummy proofed the wii so he cannot brick it again.

It had system menu 3.4 before and Im sure they knew it had been softmodded. And No they didn't give me any warnings just a photocopy of the manual with the care instructions.

guess the nand chip or whatever stores the nand just had 3.3 and a vulnerable boot1.

Yeah but one would think they would have a bunch of new nand chips on hand that way they can try and cut down on the softmods....

Samething i thought, if you sent your wii for repair, i thought you would get a wii with the latest update (4.1) and with the latest boot1 and IOSs but guess nintendo didn't.
