    Unhappy Banner Bricked 4.1U

I stupidly updated my system to 4.1u from 4.0u through the System Update. The update errored after 100%, but the system was working properly. I was able to get into the 4.1u system menu, but somehow the preloader was removed; so I reinstall it back using HBC. 4.1u also removed the ability to play backup games so I reinstalled Cios rev 10, did IOSdowngrader, and lastly reinstalled CIOScorp.

Then the system got bricked. The good thing is that it still runs Preloader 0.29 and HBC, but after that I get the Corrupted Files if I try to access the System Menu. Someone suggested me that I should reinstall Preloader. I do not know if this one will work, but I am still looking for more suggestions. I think the best way is to install 4.1u System Menu.wad.

    Thanks in advance!

A corrupted file might be the result of a bad wad, installing a system menu may not remove this problem unless it is from that. Trouble is which is the bad wad? Mindlessly uninstalling wads could fully low level brick your Wii.

I wonder if you could use Waninkoko's 4.0 updater to revert to 4.0, hopefully the brick was caused by something untoward in your install of cIOScorp. This would be 'safer' than installing 4.1U system menu wad I believe.

The Menu System worked! But my problem now is that I cannot run backup games via the disc channel. I tried re-softmod my system again but I get an error installing cIOSv7. Is it safe for me to reformat the system through the System Settings so I can start all over again?

There's really no need to reformat. As part of the update you performed with installing a system menu you've probably lost a vunerable IOS so before you format and still end up in the same boat try this http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-any-wii.html and then try installing your cIOS again, possibly even a more up to date one.
