Unhappy Wii is bricked from installing a system menu wad

I recently installed a backuploader (I think it was called friiloader or something like that) on my friend's wii and it completely got rid of the system menus and replaced them with it's own custom menus. he didn't like the new menus and asked me to revert it back to the way it was before. So I began working on the problem. I installed bootmii to the wii but it only showed up once and then it didn't show up again when I reset the wii. I wondered why but foolishly continued anyway. after that I installed a system menu wad using the wad manager and it was the wrong version for my wii (stupid moment :P) and now it's bricked...fully bricked. to be exact the wii dvd light flashed quickly but then turns off and the wii doesn't do anything, no warning messages, no flashes on the screen nothing. I don't have any mod chips installed in it either btw

I can hear it spinning the game I put into it but it doesn't do anything more than spin it....

so is there a way to unbrick this wii? a special disk or something? all help is appreciated

The flash suggests bootmii is installed. Make sure the bootmii files are on the SD card and try and get it to boot, or try a different SD card, perhaps it's not 100% compatible.

Yes, sort of but it does also contain the program that you see when it loads.

If you've moved the bootmii folder from SD to PC to avoid it loading every time you power on, then yes.

I don't remember moving anything from the SD card though, that's what worries me...that and I read on the bootmii website that it's a series of flashes that indicates that bootmii is installed and I only get one. and the last thing is that bootmii didn't start up directly after I installed it and restarted the wii. It only started it once and that was after I installed it and it automatically booted.

Bootmii IOS only allows backup and restore of NAND but not the booting function which you need right now. As IOS is not really a useful brick protection.
