Preloader uses IOS60 to operate. Deleting IOS60 renders preloader inoperable. IOS60 is a also a major component of your system menu and that's why you get the black screen.

Unless you installed bootmii as boot2 you are stuck trying the savemiifrii trick to recover your system menu.

savemiifrii is done by inserting a gamecube controller in port 4. Hold down the d-pad in all 4 directions on powerup. If successful, the recover menu should pop up. There are several sites with detailed instructions as well as a youtube video (use google to search). You may have to disassemble the GC controller to properly do the trick, I've read too though it may work if you press firmly enough. I personally have tried this trick with a 3rd party controller, didn't work. Its free so you really have nothing to loose.

but in order to use that i'm pretty sure you need a disc with a higher system menu than what you have installed...i think you are screwed dude...never delete an IOS thats very common knowledge...hell never delete anything from your wii system files is a general rule

Doesn't the new Wii Resort sports have the firmware 4.1? Can't he use that disc on savemii method and update. The game should come out soon. I am not to sure but it's worth a shot.

No games currently have anything like 4.1 on yet. It's only just been released over the internet a few days ago. Wii discs are pressed months in advance.

Then never listen to youtube at all, youtube is pointless, and if you screwed it up how would deleting IOS 60 work anyways, thats the IOS you shouldn't delete or modify at all whatsoever because it's the System Menu...

I think SaveMiiFrii's Recovery Menu also runs off the System Menu's IOS which in this case is IOS60 but since there is no IOS60 that means i won't work but still its always worth a try.
