SaveMiiFrii doesn't work. All I see is a black screen.
I'd like to buy a SaveMii Dongle to see if it works
but I can't find one anywhere.
    Any suggestions?
No savemii wont work for you it does not work on low level bricks unless you have a modchip i think if you go to either bootmii or hackmii or savemii i cant remember marcan explains this it fixes semi, full and banner bricks but it cant fix low level. which is why i say the wii needs a pandoras battery version to fix these problems unfortunately i am not a hacker so i cannot attempt i can only hope

So if my wii is bricked and I get no black screen. My screen also shows nothing but the AV channel. There is nothing I can do.

thats exactly what mine does too and thought maybe letting it rest would at least bring up a black screen but nothing still i am hoping maybe that my friend will give me one of his gamecube controllers so i can try the savemiifrii thing even though it doesnt show a black screen it still turns on and sounds like its working so in that case I am hoping to try it anyway and then insert my ssbb disc and hope it does something.

Im only new here too but from what i read what you've done is screwed your system menu.

Basically yeah, the reason your hearing the wii working in background but not seeing anything is because its trying to load the system menu but the required IOS files are incorrect or missing (?). This has happened because you: 1) didn't install preloader which sits above the system menu and detects when a game wants to update your system menu and IOS files. Preloader basically blocks this from happening so you can't possibly run system update via a game. (also you should never run the Nintendo system update!)
    2) well... you allowed the game to update your system menu. You should never do this. I hate to be negative but this is stated all over these forums!

Sorry thats the only advice I can give on how to prevent this happening in the future but I really have no clue on how to fix your current bricked wii

I read somewhere that you could wait until a game with a newer version of the system menu is released ie, 4.2, 4.3 etc? Somehow this can fix semi bricked wii's but i have no idea how that all works... I guess there is a process in the game update which checks for missing IOS's and replaces them? Completely speculating though! :P

Btw if you didn't know IOS files (from what I understand) are basically Library files used by the software to interact with the Wii low level drives and hardware. So yeah, if you screw them up then your Wii breaks

I think I found a way to save my wii!!!! All things electronic have a way to reset themselves to factory settings by removing the internal battery and such so since the wii has an internal battery to keep time and date and such where is it located in the wii? Is it on the motherboard? If anyone could please help or post a guide/link that shows where the internal battery is located it would be much appreciated as now I think I can save my wii!

I dont think removing the battery is going to work b/c if the system deleted the needed ios's they are written to the flash memory of the system like a flash drive. BTW i am in the same boat as you i am going to hold onto it till something comes out you know there will be a fix its just a matter of time in the mean time i am going to buy a used one that way i dont get a LU64 or LU65 serial to make it easier to hack again
