Wad accidental brick - preloader is installed

I somehow managed to brick my wii while attempting to install a Wad, and somehow installing the wrong wad.

My wii startup shows a black screen with a garbled message that says to refer to the operations manual.

Thankfully I have preloader installed and it is working... but when i try to go to homebrew channel it freezes up, with a loading screen with a bunch of lines.

I have the contents of my SD card backed up on my computer from after i softmodded my wii.

I was running the hacked 4.0 system menu.

What exactly do i need to do to get my wii working again.

Try loading preloader, go into the SETTINGS menu, and change the IOS to 37...might not help in your situation but helped me in a similar situation with preloader.

I un-bricked it, thanks to you tube video (search for unbrick wii) and follow the instruction of unbrick using preloader. Basically I was able to reload it back to 3.2u and get it back and running. I Again bricked it when ever I ran the IOS60patched during the upgrade to 4 but I was able to fixed it again. I decided not to use that but my wii is working so now I know how to fixed bricked wii. Thanks all.
