I'm sorry but I'm not sure what my system menu was...
I've never toyed with wii hombrew until today.

So beyond the fact that my wii system was ver.303 by default,
I'm not quite sure how I can how you help me :/

I also should probably mention that I used the softwii3PACK.rar
supplied as a link in the more info tab on the youtube video.

I basically have everything in that pack, on my sd card.
- minus a few things he had me delete in the video.

I'm not sure if that'll help you or not.
I'd hate for you to sit threw both those videos,
or even download the pack to confirm something...

Is there a way I can tell what my system menu might be?
I certainly don't recall installing one on homebrew channel....

1. Yes I have gamecube controllers

2. I'm pretty sure my wii mote works, I have to be in HBC though, and I can only get to it by resetting with restart pressed, and running preloader.

Without doing that, straight after turning on the power to the wii
I just get the typical health and safety press A button to continue message
that every wii game initiates with.... and then as soon as I press A it takes me to that cursed message..

Seems to me you need to reinstall your system menu. I am not sure what one you need as you are not sure what one you had before you modded your wii. And I am not going to blindly tell you to install one as reinstalling system menus make preloader disappear. Sit tight for a few and I am sure someone with more expertise will help you

Solution!!
Hey... seems like I had a bit of fight left in me after all folks!!

My Wii is officially UN(semi)Bricked!!

If anyone else finds themselves pitted against this nasty corrupt data screen,
I found my solution in this video on youtube.

Be sure to download the unbrick files supplied in links in info as usual.

I hope this saves someone here, like it saved me!

Hey, I think I bricked my Wii and so it loads preloader v.28 would this work for sure 100% because I do not want to wipe out preloader and then get screwed so would reinstalling system menu and IOS60 work for sure

Hi, (apologies to piggy back a thread but I got no response in newbie and this seems the closest)

To anyone that can help myself and housemates will be greatful.

I had researched softmodding a wii and gave instructions/files to my housemates (downloaded a set of file spec for hack on 4+ wii).

They tell me they followed instructions and in the end they had HBC but could not load backups, in the process of checking this they noticed messages about updating HBC and preloader. In updating one of these two the system is now showing errors. (attempted updating Preloader 0.29 to 0.30 and still appears as 0.29)

Preloader loads ok.
System Menu fails to load complaining about corrupt file system.
Can't load HBC from preloader (talks about missing title)
Unable to re-install boot.dol (DSI exception)

I have searched for the above issues and I can find guides to correcting all but the dsi exception which seems to be what we need to get HBC working and reinstall the system menu.

The guide for repair that I tried following was [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] but we can't do #3 due to boot.dol having the exception.

If it is any help I'm in Aus so running a PAL machine, but I only know it was >= 4.0 before attempting hack.

Can anyone help us restore the wii so we can start again?
I think I'll follow some guides here this time if I can get to that point.

If I have missed something in searching please feel free to point it out, however this isn't a quick fire post it is after hours of searching/trying.

I followed the instructions and now I am stuck at a black screnn when I turn on the wii I need to fix ASAP so give me my options Mr. D

Hi i am having the same problem only when i try to load homebrew it says Error autobooting HBC. maybe title not installed. I cant get into the system menu, I get that error trying to run HBC, Installed file just goes black and freezes. Really lost any help would be greatly appreciated
