Ok I had the same problem. Fixed it by reinstalled 4.0 following the instructions here. Problem now is my backups and usbloader doesn't work. I had tweaked with the setting in preloader before. I switched the sys IOS to 249. Is that the problem? And how do I fix it....do I reinstall preloader and change it to something else?

I had changed it to 249 because i heard something about NPC Metroid working with it.

Really would like getting my Wii back to the way it was. I don't care about getting Metroid working anymore. I just want my Wii back.

Thanks mate for the quick reply. I got it all working again after reinstalling rev10. ^_^

Its still strange that before doing so even my wads would'nt load. Instead it would restart the system. Now it seems to be working normally.

Another thing but this one is probably just in my head. Zelda Majoras Mask seems to run slower. It doesn't seem like its running as smooth as it was before but its probably just in my head trying to catch something wrong with my Wii now after changing the sys IOS to 249 which i have no clue to what it was before. Unfortunately there's no default option.

Quick question was the 4.0 wad here in this thread...does that close trucha files from being installed for some homebrew?

I was on 4.0 before but i used waninoko installer.

dunno about the whole ios249 thing? at least your up and running again the sys menu wad doesn't affect the trucha thing, its the IOS60 that it runs off that you need patched to use pirated wads...

Would you be able to help me? I can get to the preloader but not the HBC, when I try it goes to a glitchy picture of the normal HBC boot up screen and freezes there.

Edit: Nvm I was able to fix it.

I'm in trouble. I change the preloder settings and when i turn up the Wii after the Healty... ect press A menu i have this message: the system file are corrupted...ect. What can i do now? I cant step in the system menu!And yes i'm a idiot because a changed the autoboot to systemmenu!
