Alrighty, I'll get this done when I get home. Hopefully it works to cheer me up after this hellish day of conference calls. I shall report back.

    Cheers lads.

Just one last thing, I am running 4.3E. Is this going to be an issue for any of these steps? If so, whats the safest way to downgrade the wii?

Also the guide does specifically state to only install Priiloader once, So should I skip that, as I already have it installed?

It's right in the guide. If you downgrade to 4.1, you will have to reinstall it (Priiloader).

    Just to update.

With no Nand Restore, Starting at part two, and running through the whole process has not helped at all. Even neogamma will not boot disks anymore. Starting to think that my drive is dead.

Doing a nand restore right now. Will report back once done.

If your optical drive is electrically dead (as in non-functional to the point where the Wii itself doesn't see it) it will NOT load any channel. If you load something that's built in on the Wii menu via channel, does it load?

    Restored my Nand, and.....................

Nothing. The wii wont even output a signal anymore. Bricked to buggery. The simulation and flash completed fully, so i'm not sure what to do now. I still have bootmii, so i can access stuff, but apart from that, i'm stuffed.

Its not electrically dead, you hear the drive click and try to read when you put a disk in, and also when you try to launch it from the various launchers.

Moved to the BRICKED section. Thankfully, yours is not a full brick in that BootMii is still accessible. This job is likely one for mauifrog. You might want to mention what System Menu and region your Wii is/was while you're awaiting his stopping in here at some point.

    Thanks man,

Just before the Nand restore, it was 4.1, downgraded from 4.3 as per the softmod any wii on this here site. As for the nand backup that I restored, unfortunatly, i do not know. The backup was taken a LONG time ago.

Right, Followed guides again, Used Nand Formatter, got 4.1e up and running again. now just going to run through the other guide again to get back to using a USB loader.

4.1 menu has however confirmed that my wii no longer reads disks. So rather annoyed about that. But thanks for all your help guys. was very helpful indeed.

Please use the "edit" button ---- you've ignored it thus far (several times). Aside from that, then maybe it's time to replace the laser.

My only advice would be to make a fresh clean nand with the nand.bin formater, ohneschwanzenegger.

1- load bootmii and make a new nand backup

2- copy nand backup files to pc dir of ohneschwanzenegger

    3- open ohneschwanzenegger, load nand.ibn

    4- format nand.bin

5- install 4.3 for your region (4.3u/e/j/k), let ohneschwanzenegger download and install to your nand.bin

6- enter proper serial number in setter.txt when asked

    7- exit ohneschwanzenegger

8- open command prompt in dir of nand.bin, in dir of ohneschwanzenegger

9- run nandbincheck to verify the nand.bin
    Code:
    nandbincheck nand.bin -all -v
10- copy nand.bin back to sd card
    11- load bootmii, restore nand.bin
12- test disc loading via retail wii game disc
13- hack wii again, softmod any wii- all steps

    post back with results.
