Black screen after installing priiloader from softmod any wii guide

I followed the instructions to a tee however after I did this step, my screen is completely black. I held the reset button down and it went black. I turn the power on and the green light comes on but it is still black:

You should be in the Homebrew Channel
Launch Priiloader (the first one is 0.7, the second 0.8 beta 4)
    Priiloader Installer will load
    Read the warning-
    Press +/A to install
When finished the HBC should load.
Hold reset on the wii console, keep holding reset - priiloader will load
****If the wii freezes, hold the power down for 10sec.****
****Only install priiloader once, you need to hold reset to load priiloader****

It looks like the brick preventative did exactly that to my WII. It's a brick.

Hold the reset button in immediately after powering on your Wii to see if you can access priiloader. You have to hit and hold it in right away after powering it on.

Sent using the WiiHacks app. Please excuse the brevity, punctuation and spelling.

Thanks, I'll try it. About how long? I held it for over 30-40 seconds the first time and that is when it went completely black. EDIT- Tried it and the screen is still black. On my tv the words "video" usually goes out once I receive the signal from the box. The "video" word is not going out so it's like it's not even receiving a signal from the wii. The power lights do work appropriately though. Green, red etc.

Not sure yet. Wait for mauifrog to chime in. In the meantime, do you know if bootmii installed as boot2 or as an IOS?

Cool. I don't know, how would I be able to tell the difference between boot2 or ios? I followed those instructions perfectly though. Everything went very smoothly. It might be important to note that I had homebrew installed before but when I found this instruction manual here, it said to re-install using this method.

When you installed bootmii it would have told you if it installed as IOS or boot2. It all depends on how old your Wii is. You can also cross reference the serial number HERE. Also, did you do the 4.1 system menu downgrade?

Yes, I did the 4.1 menu downgrade. The instructions said it was suggested. If the instructions said it was suggested, I did it were applicable to my system. My system is LU38636 and is RED in the guide.

Red in the guide --- huh? Not really sure what that means without context...
