Black screen on startup, Wiimotes do not sync

    hi

thanks a lot for the great FAQs! really helpful i managed to hack my own wii and everything was perfect! i was playing games from the External hard drive life was PERFECT!
until i got a very VERY old hard disk from a friend of mine...the game didn't show up in any app except

ir failed many times then in the end it kept changing ios ...in the end it worked and i played with wii fit plus for 2 hours then switched it off....

and after a few hours i switched it back on, and i got a black screen!
the Wii remote is not syncing and the black screen still there...tried everything, switching off and on, plugging/unplugging cables, different wii remotes...still nothing!

luckily, i have Priiloader installed and by holding the reset i can access it! but yet can't do anything as the remotes won't connest, holding the sync in the console and the remotes for 10 seconds didn't help!

luckily (i guess) i do have made a Nand back up, but again i don't know what to do with it...

    any help guys plz?

    thanks

I have moved your post to the Bricked Wii section. Hopefully mauifrog will get a chance to chime in. Sounds to me like your bt module could be bad, but maui is the brick expert. I would wait for him or someone else with more brick knowledge than myself to chime in.

Sounds like a failed bt module. You can test this by powering the wii on with the wiimote, it would not typically turn on with failed bt module. You can further test it by loading hbc from priiloader, use gc controller to nav, load a game, games would not load. You can test even further by loading installed Nintendo channels, like shop, news, weather, etc, all of these will sync wiimote and typically would fail with bad bt module.

If bt module is bad, it must be replaced with known working module.

Also possible that bt module is fine, but there is a mainboard issue affecting its function, not common.

    Thanks cjizzle

    Mauifrog :

If the Eii is plugged in and its still turned off, i can turn it on from the woi remote but that's it, once it's on i can do nothing...

I would assume that maybe when i 1st saw the black screen at that time i tried to sync the remote then i remembered the Priiload..
Maybe if i didn't try syncing it and switched to Priiload things would have been better...

Anyway, I'm going now to buy a GC controller and see what o can do...

Reinstalling a menu will uninstall priiloader. You would have had to reinstall priiloader after reinstalling a menu before rebooting.
