Bricked US Launch Wii - Should be able to fix it but nothing works

Ok, so I have an original launch date US wii that I have modded following the Softmod any wii tutorial on this site.
I have bricked in the past but have always been able to recover each time. However, this time is different.

I was on 4.1U with Boot2 and priiloader installed.
I decided to go to 4.3U using the guide so that I would have have the most up to date IOS's so that I could play the newer release games.
Everything worked fine for a day or two and then things went wrong.
System files became corrupt but I was able to load to priiloader.
I didn't unbrick right then because bootmii no longer worked from prii loader or HBC.
So I thought I would work on it later.

My wife continued to play it from USB through priiloader but I always loaded it for her.
She only played it twice. Then I forgot about it for a few weeks until the kids started bugging me about it.

Now, priiloader no longer works and I can't get into bootmii either.

When I hit the power button, the light blinks twice to confirm the bootmii is installed.
Nothing appears on the screen at all. Loads straight to black screen.
I do not get a health screen because I previously disabled it with priiloader.

An SD card with my bootmi files on it only causes the wii light to blink on and off continuously until I power it down. Same thing with the bootmii mauifrog bootmii files in one of the threads.
Holding eject on startup no longer loads priiloader.
Trying savemiifrii mode with a gamecube controller doesn't bring up the firmware.

The only thing that has ever revealed anything on the screen is when I tried to use the B.L.I.N.D. recovery method. I put the files from the guide on my SD card and when I loaded the Wii, it brought up the following:

    cBoot2 DOL loader v16

    IOS Version 2 v16 0X00020010
    Failed to load IOS.

    Ok. That's it.
    I am open for suggestions.
I did just see a guide on using a NAND formatter program. I will try that and post what happens.

For now, any comments and suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks!

Cboot2 loading with failed to load IOS suggests your nand is corrupted beyond use. You should be able to load bootmii to fix it. Bootmii in boot2 is working as cboot2 is loading. Just need to get it to load the restormii file from bootmii on the sd card. Format the sd card with the panasonic sd card formater. Extract this to sd:\ bootmii.zip

    Lets see how that goes.

Ok. I have the panasonic sd card formater program.
    available from here

I formatted the 2 GB Sandisk SD card using the program.
I extracted the Bootmii files in your post above to the root of the SD card.

Put it in my bricked wii and got the same results as my original post - a continuous blinking red light. i.e. no bootmii menu comes up and still have black screen. doh!

I did try the SD card in my other wii and everything worked as it should so I know that the SD is ok and the bootmii folder is good.

    Still scratching my head.
Thanks for trying though. Any other ideas?

P.S. - Just realized that I can not use the NAND formatter method as that requires being able to get into bootmii as well. Nuts

Keep the bootmii folder on sd:\
Setup the files needed for the nand formater
    rename sd:\bootmii\ppcboot.elf to bootmii.elf
copy the nand formater elf to sd:\bootmii and rename to ppcboot.elf

    See what that does.

Well, it got me into the NAND Formatter program but it stalled while trying to install the first WAD - IOS17.
I made sure to always point the program to the SD card for the setting.txt
Hard reset or wait it out?
    It's been over 5 minutes...

    Thanks for getting me somewhere.

UPDATE: just did a hard reset and I get the same result over and over. Freeze at installation of IOS17

OK, try the nand formater again, but with only this wad. Delete the other wads off of sd card.
    IOS36-64-v1042.wad.out.wad.zip

Edit: I am off the bed. So if that ios36 installs, try cboot2 again. With cboot2 try to load blind, or if that gives issue try multi mod manager. Cboot2 loads the boot.dol on sd:\, so put what boot.dol you like there and it should load, blind or MMM.

If you get blind or MMM to load, install http://www.mediafire.com/?aka599b22egbced
Pull the sd card out and remove cboot2, put the bootmii files back on. From blind or MMM select to reload ios, reload ios254. See if bootmii loads. If it does, make a new nand backup.

Let me know how that goes, I will post back tomorrow.

Ok, this is depressing. Try again with only this wad
    IOS4-64-v3.zip

    Well darn. Freeze again.

Unless there is something that I am supposed to do to make it progress through the wad installation process, which there can't be because I have pressed every button, then I think that this is never going to work.

So, the reason that it is not loading bootmii is because the NAND files are too corrupted.
and for some reason, the NAND formatter will not complete.
I wonder why the wii still gives me the double blink light confirmation that bootmii is installed.
I would think that with a trashed NAND that the blink would be gone as well.

Thanks for all your help Mauifrog.
