Did I miss something? Why is there no hope? Also, don't sell somebody a broken Wii.

Oops. Typo. I meant option #3. Sorry about that. It has to do with SaveMiiFrii.

Thank you! Okay, one slight question. I noticed that on the guide, SaveMiiFrii has to do with a gamcecube controller and SaveMii has. My issue is I have a black Nintendo Wii, one of the ones that were designed excluding the gamecubE controller ports as well as gamecube memory card slot...so I'm guessing this would be a fail for me, wouldn't it?

Oh. I guess I did miss something. No, it won't work if you don't have GC controller ports. I don't know what else you can try, but mauifrog might have some ideas. Wait for him to respond before you give up.

If you can't get priiloader working, then I think you're probably hosed. Craigslist or eBay to replace. You could likely find an older one WITH GC ports for ~$50, since you don't need wiimotes or anything.

If all you did was attempt to install a custom menu and not remove one then it can be fixed or at least there's a chance. It's a 100% possible to open up the Wii and solder on a GC controller to get into recovery mode. I've done this myself to assist in unbricking. And of course there's always the option to flash a NAND backup.

Edit: another question. Do you have a "black screen" or a "no signal screen"? There is a difference. If its a no signal screen then the only hope would be a NAND flash. If it starts with a no signal ( or similar) and then goes black then that would indicate that the SM is attempting to load in which case then attempting SaveMiiFrii would be worth while.

    Tapatalk misspelled it. Knot me.

Yes that's pretty much all I tried to do, and then afterwards, black screen after health screen. Would opening up the wii still apply to a black wii with no gamecube ports? If this method really could possibly work, I'm willing to give it a shot. But I need to know what may or may not happen.
    Seriously...
