You will be gambling if you buy it. Not knowing the history makes it a little more difficult to troubleshoot. Not having any info for us makes it hard to say that it's fixable too.
Its been modded for a while. I bricked it by downgrading from 4.3u to 4.0u. It occurred because I was just clicking through the prompts although it did say it was going to back up priiloader during the downgrade it never actually did. I think this is because the stub difference between the two IOS60's although I could be wrong. Anyway the priiloader is no longer there. Although I have such an old wii its not Boot2 compatable. The only protection I was able to have was Bootmii into Ios. I never made a nand backup because I was just downgrading and planned to do it afterwards. Before the brick all cios were properly updated.
I also thought about buying the savemii instead of the modchip but I thought if I could knock two birds with one stone with the modchip that would be better. Most modchips I see say it has recovery features but I didnt know if that was operational Wiis only. I also looked into the recovery brick post on numerous sites but the involve autoboot disk and modchips so I didnt think any of those were helpful either.
A 2006 Wii that isn't boot2 compatible? What??
I suspect OP read the standard (what all Wiis say, ie 2006) date on the Wii and thought that meant manufactured in that year...
I'm sure it's boot2 compatible, but the question is: Is bootmii installed as boot2? That's the unknown. The only way to find out is to put the bootmii files on an SD card and boot it up to see what happens.
Well I dont know if its a 2006 model but if I put the serial number in here the copyright year is 2006.
Here is a picture also the serial number doesnt fall into any of the ranges listed here http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...mber-list.html

The reason for me wanting a Modchip is so I can play gamecube games easier, plus the many other benifits its has, also the protection it has because I am frequently changing Ios' for different games and patches and system menu lol. I try alot of different themes and stuff and I dont always have a .app for the correct system menu on my Sd card so I use a homebrew app to change the system menu version just to get rid of the theme. I guess my luck caught up to me this time. Basically what I want to know is my Wii useless or can a Modchip save it? Or would I have a better chance with Savemii?
You've bricked your Wii by not following our guide (you currently have a stubbed IOS 60) and that's a later production run Wii (not boot2 compatible). With no NAND and no keys, there's likely no hope.
post deleted im sorry this topic can be closed or deleted ill just buy a new wii
