if my memory works fine, the ps2 controller with a converter is connected to the wiimote, in order to make it working for the Wii . right ?
that's not equivalent to a GameCube controller !

well, i was trying to tell u ....... get a GameCube controller and see if you can get into Rescue Mode (RM).

There are PS2 -> GC controller adapters (I have one lying around here somewhere). I don't know if it would work, but I don't really see why not. Give it a shot and see.

it shows SM 4.1e on there, i think you just need a disc with 4.2 or 4.3 update on it and it should fix it. Bricks are NOT my specialty but I am pretty sure that will fix it.

My mistake there. Mauifrog has already given you your option
