    Bricked Wii...don't know why

Try to bare with me, I'm as new to this as you can get. I've owned a Wii for a week, hacked it using a guide a friend gave me. I'll try to give you as much info as I can. It's a 4.3U. I used letterbomb and installed bootmii and preloader. Did the backup thing. I was using a USB drive, fat formatted, USB loader gx, playing wbfs files. I downloaded a few new games and wanted to test them out to see if they worked because some of the games I had downloaded we not loading, the system would crash and I'd have to shut it down and turn it on again. So, I tried to load a game, it crashed, I turned it off and on again and was greeted with a black screen. I've tried several times to get into preloader by holding reset and turning the power on but it's not working. Nothing but a black screen. I wasn't messing with channels of themes or system stuff, only trying to load a game. Not sure what happened or what I should do, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am going to guess that you where using an older v1 beta of usbloader gx which has been know to brick wiis from time to time in the manner you have described. If priiloader/preloader is not working there is very little you can do. You could pursue the possibily of a hardware brick, but I doubt that is your issue.

Step 1- get a gc controller an do savemiifrii, see if the recovery menu loads when you do savemiifrii.

Step 2- test your wiimote by powering on the wii with a synced wiimote. Does the wiimote power the wii on or not.

If the wiimote does not power on the wii and savemiifrii does load the recovery menu, likely your bluetooth module is not working. However, priiloader/preloader would still work in this case, perhaps you don't have preloader installed, or bt module is not your issue.

If the wiimote does power on the wii and savemiifrii does not load the recovery menu, consider-

Full brick from bad homebrew misshape, or

Bad Wifi module- to test wifi, replace with a known working module. The menu would then load, if not then the wifi is not the issue.

Very bad disc drive- Very rare, to test remove your wii dvd drive, the system menu should load without the dvd drive, if not then the dvd drive is not the issue.

Assuming that your hardware is fine, you likely have a fully brick. In this case contact deadlyfoez, streamline hd, or krafter to have your nand reprogrammed using the nand backup you made during the softmod process.

I thought so as well, I did see the OP said he downloads his games so I thought "he's a pirate, no help for pirates". But I'll leave it for which ever mod re-opened it. I used my judgement and got overruled lol.

Nope, my first time here, if I did something wrong, apologies, I have no idea what I'm doing, just looking for some help to get my Wii fixed. Mauifrog, Wiimote powers on the system. I'll have to track down a GC controller and figure out what a savemiifrii is and try that. I think it might be the usb loader thing, tried to figure out what version it is and found this: USB Loader GX USB Loader GX Team 1.0 r938 200912151155. From what I can tell it's toast and there's nothing I can do to fix it.

The thing you did wrong, maybe I misunderstood, is you said you download your games.

Or like back in the day, one mod clicked "Close Thread" while another did the same thing at the same time or immediately subsequent to the first, which resulted in it being left open

Okay, I moved this thread from the newbie section to here, that's why it seems as though there was two threads.
Regardless, OP states he downloaded games therefore the thread will be closed. Consider yourself lucky Mauifrog
took the time to help you anyway.
