Perhaps the piece inside that controls the audio output is bad?

Did some more tinkering. No sound on GC or Wii game but sound through Wiimote. Not sure how any of this is connected but I'm guessing sound through wiimote is all bluetooth and has nothing to do with the audio out to tv, correct?

I will probably disassemble again and look for dry solder joints at the av module. These are known issues for many new gen systems such as PS3 and the yellow ring of death. I'll check it out sometime this week and post an update. Hopefully its a simple fix with a soldering iron. Thanks everyone for your input. I also found replacement av modules on ebay for $6 free ship.

I'll second that.... is not a cable issue.
I could be wrong but I think that the audio is integrated in the motherboard so i don't think there is an specific part that you can replace, in other words... no way to fix.

Man! That'll be weak if its in the board. I have it disassembled past the dvd drive and now for the fun of removing the rest off the board to inspect the solder. Hopefully its a cold joint issue. Fingers crossed.

Well, all joints look fine. Could this be a faulty bluetooth module? I removed the bluetooth module and reseated it. Reassembled and still get video no audio. Wiimotes sync fine. Scratching my head here.
