Wii not working properly after installing a wad.

Guys,

I need your help!!

I used this guide on the 30th December to softmod my sons Wii. Fantastic guide by the way, major props to the writer & the site!!! :encouragement:

I followed the instruction to the letter and everything went perfect. Roll the clock forward 8 months and I'm still annoyed that I didn't install a forwarder. Last night I decided to......

I searched high and low and found Orange Priiloader Forwarder-FIX94v11.dol & Orange-FIX94v11d-forwarder-DWFA.wad. Followed additional instructions, including installing the Wad and now the Wii won't boot !!!

Gutted (but not as much as my 5 yr old). I've uninstalled the wad & removed the dol from the SD card to no avail. If I have the original toolset (from the mod 8months ago) on the SD card, it will boot (I assume into bootmii) and then I can get to the homechannel so its not totally bricked.

What do I need to do to get it back to booting as it did?

Get us some info about what your wii actually does now. Can you get anything? press/hold reset whilest booting, hold until priiloader comes up... can you see priiloader? If so, can you get to HBC?

If I put these files (see attachment 1WorkingSD.jpg) back onto the SD card and boot, it does, I assume off of the SDcard. If I put the original files back onto the SD (see attachment 2NonWorkingSD.jpg), ie the ones that were on there prior to me installing the Dol & Wad then when I power on, it sits there with a black screen (HealthCheck is disabled in Priiloader).

Not sure if that helps? I'm currently in the office and don't have access to the Wii.

Hi Blu,

Just got in and tried, as you suggested, press/hold reset whilest booting and priiloader boots. I can then load HBC and subsequently WiiFlow. Exiting WiiFlow takes me to the Channel Screen. So its seems a case of it won't initially boot to Channel Screen.

So several hours laters and I have an epiphany....I jump back into the priiloader and change autoload to system screen (I think thats what it said, I'm on second bottle of wine ---- could be the reason for the epiphany!!) from installed file.

Now works as it did..... Sorry for being a Klutz !! Over 20 years in IT but this will happen to you when you try to fix 5h1t at stupid O'Clock!

So new question.....What was the problem? Was the dol & wad the wrong version???? Where would I find the correct version? or do I update everything and then go hunting?

I've recently moded a wii with a usb loader and i was wondering if the games are saved to the wii or do i have to keep them on my usb(flashdrive) inorder to play the game.Please Assit..

If they are wii games and are on your HDD/Thumb Drive they would have to stay their.
The wii is incapable of storing the games on to the wii nand.(It's only got 512MB's)
The only thing that gets save to the wii is the progress of the games you are saving to the nand on the wii.
