Possible Full Bricked Wii - Any Assistance Appreciated! Theme-related.

Hello any and all,

I realize I'm going to get my ass chewed out for this one..

Yes, I was stupid enough to brick my Wii with a theme.

First, the specs, so the experts, (if you so choose) may help me better:

• White PAL Wii
• System Menu: 4.3E (PAL)
• Serial: LEH232711293
• Drive Chip:GC2-D2E.
• No Hard Mods
• BootMii as IOS (Boot2 Incompatible)
• Priiloader WAS installed

Bricked after i installed The Wii Theme Team's 'Pink Theme'
It gave a black screen at first, and Priiloader still worked fine. I chalked it up to user error (as i had the same problem with my other Boot2 Wii, which was solved after another try at installing the theme) and reset using Priiloader and BootMii, coupled with NUS Downloader to restore the stock System Menu.

I followed the theme team and 'Complete Softmod Guide's' instructions to the letter, as I had done previously with my other Wii, made absolutely sure that the theme MYM was PAL 4.X compatible, and compiled it with the 0000009a.app as instructed.

After the second try, the same black screen appeared. I thought nothing of it, until i attempted to boot back into Priiloader again. No dice.

Priiloader had disappeared, wiped out (I assume) by the faulty menu install.

I have attempted factory menu and autobooting (but have no modchip), I can access the "4.3E" black screen, but that's as far as I get. Nothing else.

Is there anything I can do?

I was thinking of attempting to spoof a 4.4E update, maybe there may be some way of tricking the update partitions into thinking they're a higher update than what's installed in order to force a fresh install of 4.3E (disguised as the non-existant 4.4E), but I'm not sure how that would work, and I'm sure I'm talking bullshizz.

Anyone that can help at all, I thank you for your advice.

What softmod guide did you follow on your wii? Do you think you have dip patched system ios from my guide (v54321) or from modmii (v16174). If you do have the dip patch, your good to go. If not you need a modchip.
Try to burn this disc iso

BLIND Autoboot Disc PAL
Load the recovery menu via savemiifrii
Put the disc in the wii and hope it boots.
If it does boot, reinstall your system ios and system menu

If it does not boot, start shoping for a modchip and a 1:1 iso of ssbb-pal

I followed my own from memory, and where I couldn't remember, I followed CompleteSoftmod Guide on GoogleSites.

It, and yours, and... someone else's, (I used a strange mix for my first Wii softmod) helped me the first time round, however, on this occasion, only Complete SoftMod was used.

I'm not too sure if i have the dip patched, I know i patched the two IOS' needed to use backup loaders as stated in the abovementioned guide, but... I'm not all too sure on that front, I'm sorry.

As for modchips, i've been looking into it, the Wasabi DX or newest WiiKey? Which would work and how would I go about saving myself from this mess? I have read different stories, some good, some bad.

Been reading a lot of your posts today, haha, I've learned a lot.

I'll try those discs too, I have tried the official Nintendo one, and a load of other ones, no booting happening.

Then you do not have the dip patch on your system ios and will likely need a modchip, unless that disc boots for you. Any 4th gen chip should work, wasabi dx has worked well for me. Burn that disc and see if it boots. If not, install a modchip. Let me know, I have a 530mb ssbb-pal iso you can test.

I'm attempting to download the BLIND PAL Disc, but the mediafire links are all down. Terms of Service Violations.

I've searched around, no other mirrors, he wants the downloads only on that page.

Is it worth registering on Hacksden to grab the file from their server?

Okay, the drive beeps twice when accepting the BLIND PAL disk, and starts to spin up, which is more than any other disk apart from an original wii game (Mario Party 8, if it matters).
It doesn't load anything. Stays on recovery screen with 4.3E on it.
Tried the BLIND SD loader too, just in case, still nothing.

I burned it on a DL +R, as i have nothing else to use.

I've extracted the update partition for a PAL iso backup of Metroid: Other M, which is a 4.3E update.
Would you have any idea where the code is that the Wii checks against it's own system version to tell if it needs to update or not?
I think this approach may work if it can be done properly. Unless you or someone has already tried that, which seems likely.

I'm currently rooting around in the code for it.. If i can find anything, i'll post back here.

If you know of anything or know that it can't be done, could you let me know?

Updating is not going to work. That blind disc is a dvd5, it should be burned on a dvd5. But it does not sound like it is going to load, so you need a chip. What you need is a chip, try to load blind burned on dvd5. If that fails you'll need to load ssbb-pal and run smash stack. Tricking the wii is not going to work, it has been tried so don't waist your time thinking about it.

Let me know when you get the chip and if blind works or not.

I can't get hold of a chip easily at the moment, so I went a did a sneaky bit of shopping with an added refund, and now have managed to swap the dead Wii for a Boot2 one.

Am taking normal precautions as per Boot2, Prii etc.
