    Dead controllers. Bricked?

Hi all! I sincerely hope I'm following all the rules here. I've searched your archives and read through the Bricked issues and can't find anything that seems to fit my problem (though I am a real amateur at this and I haven't needed to mod anything in years so I'm a little rusty)

I've used your forum for years and its been very helpful. So helpful in fact that I've never needed to register or post. So thank you for that! My wii opens to a white system menu, and sometimes if I don't activate the controller the very second that the white screen pops up, the wii won't recognize the controller. And I have to restart. I realize now I should have dealt with this sooner and maybe updated that system menu or something. Anyway, now it opens to the system menu but refuses to recognize my controller so I'm basically stuck there.

I was wondering if maybe using a Nintendo 64 controller might get me past this to at least let me try some fixes, but I don't have one, so I wanted to check here to see if it was worth buying one.

Thanks so much for any assistance you all can offer.

I read your story and some of the details are a bit unclear to me. You say your wii opens to a white system menu. What do you mean with this? Do you mean to say the screen remains completely white? Or did you mean something else?

Are you using 3rd party controllers or official ones from Nintendo? Did you try using other controllers, to eliminate the possibility of the controllers being broken? Did you check the batteries? Did you try syncing the controllers?
Awesome sig picture does not work

It says Systemmenu v481. It just has a white background. I installed it a long time ago and is exactly what my wii should normally do. When I click the wii remote all four lights blink a number of times but then they all go out. I've tried new batteries and both my remotes won't work. They are the factory remotes and not the motion plus kind. I tried syncing but it won't work (syncing never worked from this page, so I had realized long ago that if I were to sync both remotes to another wii I might never be able to get past this page again). I haven't recently modded anything or made any changes in a long time. Everything is the same as before, but I just turned on the wii the other day and it doesn't seem to recognize the remotes. So I'm basically just stuck at my startup page.

Thanks again for any ideas you might have to offer!

OK here you go. With priiloader on the screen without any wiimotes synched wait 15 seconds and then hit reset. With luck will bring you to the system menu where you should resynch your wiimote.

Use the red button to sync not 1+2

Once you've done that you can use wiimote in priiloader to determine if you have boot options set to priiloader.

how about renaming the priiloader cfg file to something else. then try rebooting. with no cfg file it should default to system menu.

Thanks. I can't find a priiloader cfg file. The only thing on my sd card that says priiloader is in the apps folder and the only thing in the folder is the boot.dol. There's a bootmii cfg and a few others but no priiloader cfg. Damn! I was excited about that.
