    Bricked Wii

Hey guys I'm trying to fix my friend's wii. I don't know what firmware it is, but I can only guess no later than 4.1u. I also don't know how he bricked it and I sort of lost contact with him.
He doesn't have bootmii as boot2 and no priiloader as I checked with turning on the wii and holding reset while turning it on. Are the only options involve Savemiifrii and Nand?
Also I'm trying to sync my wiimote with my friend's Wii, but it is not happening. Could it be that I have to reseat/replace the bluetooth module? If so, would that possibly solve the bricking issue?

    Thanks.

Try savemiifrii first. We don't know must about the Wii ATM, saveniifrii will help shed light.

Ummm.....what? Thats not really good advice. I believe mauifrog is trying to help the OP fix their Wii, not make them spend money on a new one. And BTW his guide for hacking a Wii is unmatched. Not sure what you mean by "upload best files"....

I currently don't have any triwing screwdrivers right now. I just ordered them online. Is there an alternative way to get to the recovery menu?

Also I can't sync my wiimote to the Wii. And I guess, ultimately, I can't turn on the Wii. Although the wiimote has never been registered before the brick. Any thoughts?

Edit: I should've noted that the Wii has a blackscreen brick. The blackscreen appears when I start the Wii. So no a/v output.

It is probably very much bricked. Give savemiifrii a try, good luck. Does he have a nand backup? Is the wii very old? Old enough to install boot2 bootmii?

Ok, if savemiifrii does not work, the only way to fix the wii is via nand programming.

Unless you think it could be hardware. It is rare, but a bad wifi module or dvd drive will cause black screen and no working savemiifrii. But since you get no signal at all it is probably true brick. At least it is old enough for boot2 bootmii and can be reprogrmed. To bad it does not have boot2 bootmii installed, that would be nice.

Alright, so I finally got a triwing screwdriver and tried to get the Wii into recovery mode. It didn't work. Then I opened up the Wii and everything looked intact. I re-seated everything and put back everything carefully. Tried to get into recovery mode several times. Nothing. What are my options now?
