    Banner Brick on GC-less Wii

I have one of the "new" wii's where they have discontinued gamecube compatibility. Last night I installed a custom wad file on the wii and ended up banner bricking my wii. I made the wad using CrapV3.3b which has worked for me so many times in the past but it just wasn't in the cards this time. Does anyone have any experience unbricking one of these new Wii's? I have found countless forums saying to hold down buttons on the GC controller to load into the Rescue Menu and autoboot Universal Unbrick Disk, which would be great if I had GC ports... Please HELP!!!!

If you don't have priiloader, keep an eye on deadlyfoez project to add gc ports to these wiis. He should be posting instructions once he complets it. Or you could send it to him.

Has anyone tried using a usb adapter to connect the GC controller? I thought it might be worth a shot if it would work. I'm even willing to get a modchip or anything else that would make the wii autoload from a disc. I'm just trying to avoid buying a new wii. The one I have now is still within the warranty period but since I was using HBC and Config USB Loader and had various other "unauthorized" softwares installed, sending it in is really a last ditch effort. I can't believe that Nintendo would take away such a useful rescue feature on the newest versions of the wii.

Nintendo probably removed those gc ports just to stop you from fixing the Wii. The Wii needs ports, old drive, modchip, etc. It will be work and money

So basically, I can try sending it to Nintendo and hope they'll repair it without noticing that it's been hacked or buy a new one? All because of a bad wad... I guess if that's the case is there anyway to pull the saved games off or are they gone for good now too?

The solution that I am considering is this:
I get paid Friday, if I haven't found a way to save this Wii by then, I will be buying a new one (most likely the same model). Does anyone know if priiloader works on these new Wii's without GC and 4.3U system menu? I feel like I tried to cover all bases before but apparently missed that step, I even have a useless NAND backup so I could restore the system.
After I get the new Wii, I'm going to send my bricked one into Nintendo to try for a warranty repair, if they'll do it. When I get the repaired one back I'll keep it as a backup in case this happens again...or if I find myself in need of money I can always sell one later.

I'm trying to do things the honest way and own up to my mistake but it kinda hurts when a company cuts off all methods of repair from the user. I work in the IT field doing repairs but everything I do could easily be done by the customer if they spent just a little time researching prior to calling and requesting the repair. Our equipment is just as proprietary as what Nintendo sells but ours has backdoors built in so that it is easily repaired by almost anyone. However this is not the case with most game consoles being developed. I know that in a way this was my fault but there used to be a way of fixing these things when the GC port was still on the Wii.

Nintendo will 100% be able to detect your user modifications. They will most likely refuse to repair it, or charge you a fortune. Since you have a nand backup, send it to a nand programmer to fix it. It cost about $50 to have it reprogrammed.
deadlyfoez, streamlinehd, krafter, bad-ad84, erikie- they can fix this for you. Nintendo is not going to help you, not even worth trying in the wiis current state.

Now there are a few ways that you could cause some unintentional damage to your wii's mainboard, preventing the detection of you modifications.
