It doesn't have priiloader, and I couldn't find the nand.bin or key.bin file.

I need the password to download the thing to check for boot 2 bootmii.

Thanks for the password, but none of those three things worked.

Last hope is that the wii is old, like 4 years old and supports the install of boot2 bootmii, or possibly the person you brought it from has the nand.bin or key.bin. Without the nand.bin or key.bin the wii cannot be fixed, unless it is old enough to support the install of boot2 bootmii. Nand.bin, key.bin, old wii, regardless the only way to fix it would be to send it to a nand programmer to flash your nand, which can only be done if you have the nand.bin, or key.bin, or old boot2 bootmii capable wii, only 1 of the 3 is needed.

The person I bought it from isn't the person who hacked it, so getting the nand.bin or key.bin isn't really an option.

Do I need those in order to install boot2 bootmii?

Listen to Mauifrog. If your wii is boot2 capable then you can save it but you will need to send it to someone to flash the nand.

Oh, so I can't actually install bootmii without those two files (I thought they were two seperate solutions) and since my Wii is the black version it's probably too new for that.

Looks like I'm outta luck >_> There goes another $150 on my next pay.

Oh well at least this time I'll hack it myself so it'll probably work better (and have priiloader installed)

Thanks for all the help everyone.

If someone could tell me exactly what may have bricked the Wii though, just so I know what to avoid in the future, that would be great.

Black Wii = no boot2 for sure

Are you sure you were in gx when you changed the video settings? If you were in the wii menu and set it to progressive scan it would do what you are describing too. Once you are in progressive scan mode you will not be able to see anything without using the component cables. The only way too change it back it to have those cables or do it by feel and know the exact order to click things. I don't think this is what you did, but it may be worth a shot to borrow someone's component cables and see if that is what you did.

Mod the next one yourself and follow our guides, you will be safe. The only thing I can think of that may have caused the brick is what Mauifrog stated about some old revs of GX having issues and causing bricks.

No I definitely changed the settings in the USB Loader.

And when the Wii turns on the controller won't respond (even if I turn it on with the controller) so I couldn't change the settings back anyway.
