ShadowSonic2's blog for everything I feel like posting ;p
Made this tutorial after experiencing it myself. Some iPod Touch 2G/3G and iPhone 3G[S] users may have ran into this nightmare while upgrading/downgrading. Stuck on an un-jailbreakble firmware that won't go past the plug into iTunes screen and goes into a boot loop. I experienced this when upgrading my iPod Touch to OS 4.0 Beta. The upgrade failed and I was left with a boot loop which would NOT allow you to restore successfully.
Some people may ask why not do a restore directly instead
Been thinking of it lately, ways today can stop our precious cIOS. Will add more eventually.
1. Check for custom iOS
Simple, new game with this check. When its loaded, it checks your Wii to see if any iOS is installed in any slot above 200 (For example cIOS222, 223 or 249) and either:

We all remember the pesky protection that prevented us from playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii a while back?
At that time, we thought from then on, every game will have the ugly BCA protection. Seems not, in fact, the next BCA protected game has appeared this week (If it really has BCA but it seems so). As you can see from this thread, its the same way as it was with New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
Although its not released in stores yet, If anyone were to get a retail disc
This is for the people in the USA and Canada who plan on buying the new Black Wii. To clear up a few things.
Yes, your new Wii will be softmoddable. It will probably come with either system menu 4.1 or 4.2 (If not all, most of them will come with 4.2), If it does have 4.2 on it, do this tutorial by me to Softmod. If you happen to have to have 4.1, Do NOT update, instead use this tutorial
