I think I will give nintendo a big lol because they didn't even attempt to put anything else with this update but preformence enhancing features that just delete unauthorized channels or firmware.

    DO NOT UPDATE!!!!!!!
Removes: The Homebrew Channel, DVDx, the ability to use Riivolution. It is also said to patch all of the know methods of installing the above.

This is pretty much 4.2 all over again; Ninty is getting to be a real pain. I can't believe they didn't include ANY other "enhancements" in this update. That means we don't even have to wait for a safe updater. Not only that, nobody even has to make one. What I want to know is, Why did they do this? If you have the HBC and you know what 4.2 did, unless you are an idiot, your not even gonna think about updating because, whether or not the purpose of the update is to remove/patch hacks, they are at least going to include the 4.2 anti-HBC stuff. So, is more of a preventive thing?

Try using Smash Stack or Indiana PWNS to install the HBC. From what I've seen, they still work.

Working on a tutorial on restoring some things but will be completely untested as I don't even have a working Wii atm.

Why does N even keep trying to stop homebrew? You would think that they would have figured out that it is a waste of time to try to fight the h4x.

I miss one day and see what happens. Take note of how Nintendo waited until after the E3 to release the 4.3 update. Very slick, no bad press at press time.

Nintendo found out that last year they lost a good bit of money bc of ppl who steal game iso files and .wads
i forgot where i saw this exactly but it gave a number with quite a few 0's behind it in $'s that they lost.

Yup!! 4.3 is just another attempt to kill Homebrew without even offering any significant performance increase thinking that all of these people are now going to run out to buy all these games now that they can't pirate them and that they will increase dropping game sales by doing so. WRONG!!! What they don't realize is that a lot of people bought wiis because it can easily be modded and be able to do all this cool stuff with it which contributed to the consol's insane success in the market. Another great example of this is the first Xbox. It successfully outsold the competition for that very reason. If they do manage to kill homebrew forever, you know what will happen? Those you always legally bought games will continue to buy games. Those sometimes bought the good games that they liked will continue to sometimes buy games that they like. Those who refuse to ever pay for games will find another gaming consol or find something else to entertain themselves with. Which will contribute too an approximate 0% increase in game sales. You would think that all these edumicated people working for all these big entertainment companies would have the capacity to understand such a simple concept. Wrong!!

bravo baboo. you are 100% right on. i wasn't for getting a wii till i found out it could be modded so easily. my wife wanted it and likely would have got it but i signed off on the idea as well after doing some research. if they kill it, which i doubt, i'm going to go on to another system. i still got my pc and those games are always hacked days after the release. maybe the ds with the m3real. i'll get my fix somewhere lol. anyway i'm not alone. the hacks are what sold us our game. not "N" on it or the controls or variety. that stuff is nice but bottom line is i do some pirating (i don't go crazy but i still do from time to time). i got a wii with that in mind. how many wiis would they have sold if the hacks weren't around? it would be a dent in sales i promise you. anyway

Yup is so right 100% right on the wrong stuff. If you thought that Xbox outsold the competition during the last generation of gaming, you are a retard. I'm sorry I'm usually not rude with people but when I see stupidity like this, I have to point it out. Just do some research and you will see that Xbox was way behind the competition and only surpassed NGC in sales for the last year it was still selling. They are still selling PS2s for crying out loud. >_<

You got a point there, I should have been a little more specific, you can't compare overall sales over the life of the consol since they quit selling the Xbox in 2005 and PS2 is still on the shelves and is considered the best selling gaming consol of all time. However, it did outsell the PS2 in North America 2004 before being replaced by the xbox360 in 2005. You have to realize that MS never intended to compete with sony's PS2 for top spot since Sony was so dominnent in the market and the fact that they could not get a foothold in the Japan affected their sales number. And despite that they manage to out sell the GC and the Dreamcast.

As you can see, I do my homework too. At the time I had 50 to 60 friends in my entourage. Half of us had modded Xboxs and I think it was 3 or 4 had a PS2.

i think that crap i modded my psp wii and have a flash for my ds.yet i still buy games for my ds to support them like all the final fantasy remakes.haven't bought anything for the wii or psp anymore because most of the games suck and the wii games keep forcing you to use the krappy control system i would have been pissed if i had bought the games i started with over 40 im down to 7 games most are remakes re4 ect.i did buy metroid trilogy but returned it when i couldent use the classic controller on ether of them if your gonna use motion controls do it right like the tiger woods at e3 the the ps move

if you have boot mii as boot two, it will still work. if you have a nand.bin file you can still use it. I did the update out of curiousity but I recovered the system and put me back to 4.2.
I am still worried about the new games coming out that no doubt will require you to update to 4.3, that's the problem with all of this.
