Over the last few days, progress has been (or shared) on untethered jailbreaking for previously tethered models and unjailbreakable models. The iPad jailbreak was also quite successful being jailbroken a little less than 24 hours after its release. As the month progressed, videos and other posts are made. So here are a few (note I am not the author)

Geohot had also posted this video a while back. Posting this video of an iPod Touch 3G running Cydia, Winterboard and rebooting. This clearly shows that the iPod Touch 3G, a previously tethered boot is now untethered.

comex has also been working on a jailbreak called Spirit. Posting this video of an iPod Touch 3G running Cydia, Winterboard and rebooting. This clearly shows that the iPod Touch 3G, a previously tethered boot is now untethered.

All this evidence clearly, shows that we can look foward for a jailbreak. Although no release dates are given and its pretty smart not to rush the release so Apple will not patch the exploit in their next update.

The boy-wonder Geohot threw a wrench in our gears once again after discovering a NEW exploit that pretty much blows everything we've got out of the water. So now we're forced to reconsider our release plans once again. As of today (I can't speak for tomorrow, for all I know everything could change again), both the original exploit I posted about earlier and the new “spirit” exploit are probably going to be held off for a little bit longer to avoid being patched by Apple. Also, today I mentioned on my twitter that I can almost guarantee an exploit for 3.1.3/3.2 (all devices, and all models!) before the end of the month.
